Re: (SOLVED)setting up raid0 on linux mint 13

Ok, I am just gonna nag a bit. I am so impressed with all the knowledge and the time people here invest to help newbies like me but I really wish that this time was actually invested by the Mint developers so that one can install their system on a machine that has increasingly more common RAID array...

Handling of memory (after crash with Libreoffice) [SOLVED]

I have a complaint here about how Mint handle memory allocation or something like that (with LibreOffice). Let me first anticipate and counter the usual knee-jerk reactions: - yes, I know Mint is free and great and all that - in fact, I have converted a variety of people to leave Win or Mac behind -...

Re: LibreOffice: templates already exist

Well ... Two things: 1) I already have a bunch of templates and they are stored in the folder home/MYNAME/Templates, and I have declared this folder to be the default location for templates in LibreOffice (and that worked before they decided to 'improve' 3.4.x). 2) You say: a) Files--> Templates -->...

LibreOffice: templates already exist

Hi all I'm running Linux Mint 12 KDE and LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 with yesterday's update but I still can't define my templates etc. because of this "template's already exist" thing that pops up when I go File: Templates: ... I followed this advice <http://ask.libreoffice.org/question/240/error...

Where is "Custom command" in "Open with" of File Properties?

I have a .vue file and on Mint 11 / Ubuntu I could go right click > Properties > Open with > Custom command and then enter the path to a .jar so that I could then double-click on my .vue files. In Mint 12, this option doesn't seem available anymore, and the "Add" button is always greyed ou...

Re: Firefox 4.0.1 on Mint 11: Google searches

I haven't figured it out yet, no, right now I am using the search bar/field with the fix proposed by proxima_centauri. I did think about the non-Mint Firefox tarball but was hoping one wouldn't have to do this in a user-friendly distro like Mint. I agree that the search results are rly something the...

Re: Firefox 4.0.1 on Mint 11: Google searches

I meant

- location bar: the field where the URL shows
- search bar/field: the extra field usually on the right into which you enter search terms (from the time before browsers followed Chrome in making that allowing the location bar to be used as a search field.

Firefox 4.0.1 on Mint 11: Google searches

Hi all I am running Firefox 4.0.1 on Mint 11 and am kinda annoyed by the way Mint returns the result of Google searches. Like many other, I am using the addon greasemonkey and googlemonkeyr to get search results in 4 columns, with autoload, suppress other google crap like ads and have Google not tra...

Firefox 4.0.1 on Mint 11: title bar issues

Hi all I am using Firefox 4.0.1 on Mint 11 and have an issue with the title bar. After having browsed through a few pages, the title bar, which usually changes depending on the title of the page, doesn't change anymore. It now shows: subject line of an mail I looked at in Gmail - my gmail address - ...

Compiz: Maximumize doesn't work in Mint 11

The subject says it all: On Mint 11, I can't get Maximumize to work. All other plugins I am using seem to work fine, but Maximumize doesn't use the whole vertical space available -any thoughts?

Re: Wireless slows down when on battery

Man, it's as easy as that?!! Thanks so much, but I hadn't found any GUI type of power setting tweaker. Follow-up question: is there a way to make that permanent?
Again, thx!!

Wireless slows down when on battery

I have Mint 10 running on a Dell Latitude E6500 notebook and am using the Broadcom STA wireless driver (just in passing, same happens on Ubuntu 10.10). My problem is this: - when the computer is plugged into a power outlet, wireless works fine, but - when the computer is running on battery, it hardl...

Mint search enhancer kills greasemonkey/googlemonkeyr

Hi I am wondering how one can get the combination of greasemonkey and googlemonkeyr to work. It's really great to have googlemonkeyr autoload new results and display 4 columns of results (and this worked the last few years on Ubuntu, Windoze), but Mint's Firefox doesn't let that work from the search...
