Re: Bluetooth problems: Bastien's computer? Who the heck is Bastien?

Got it working. Summarised from another thread...

In a terminal

rfkill unblock all
bluetoothctl
power on
scan on

use ctrl-D to exit bluetoothctl

I also needed to remove device and reconnect mouse to get it to work but there must be a bug hiding in there somewhere.

Re: (solved!) Brother MFC-6490CW and Mint 14

These instructions are pretty old now. I had no trouble installing the drivers using the installation file from the brother website. http://support.brother.com/g/b/downloadlist.aspx?c=nz&lang=en&prod=mfc6490cw_all&os=128 Use this link and try Downloading and using the "Driver install tool". It will ...

Re: Cinnamon crashes, I have a working desktop

I managed to get it working Ok again. I could get it going in recovery mode.
Opened Admin>Driver manager. It allowed me to select a legacy 304 nvidia driver. Reboot and normal resolution restored.

Re: USB Virtualbox Howto in GUI

Other solutions I saw all used command line. This is all very well but the GUI is much friendlier and less intimidating.
It shows what groups are available to a user at a glance.

USB Virtualbox Howto in GUI

Installing virtualbox and WinXP I wanted to be able to access USB drives plugged in. You need to add a filter in the USB part of the Virtualbox manager. It showed no devices attached. I came across command line options to rectify the problem and Virtualbox help files were overly complicated. The GUI...

Upgrading your distribution to Mint 16

I found many of the methods detailed on the net outdated and far more complicated than necessary. My upgrade was from Mint 14 64 bit to Mint 16 64 bit but I am sure it can be applied to other upgrades. First back up your data. I am describing a clean install. I find that best as it gives your machin...

Re: How To install Draftsight CAD 64 bit

Hello Spirou4D

I had to give up on Draftsight as a bug in the Print option that was affecting many Draftsight users prevented me from printing anything out.
The print menu window didn't work correctly. Does it work OK for you?

Re: [SOLVED] Steam: Could not connect to Steam network.

I found an easier way just use in terminal

steam --reset

Restarting steam it does it's (200+MB) update.

The only problem I have yet to solve is make it permanent. Restarting from hibernation or reboot and I have to repeat the process.
