Just an installation question

Everything is running fine so if it ain't broke don't fix it but, why did Mint 10 install as AMD64 when I'm running a INTEL chipset and an Atom CPU?

Found out by trying to load LightScribe and it gave an error message because it's only 32bit and x86 support for Linux.

Re: What is a safe operating temp for netbooks?

Only time I had that problem was installing a Pentium dual core, couldn't find the thermal cream I had so I had to use that hard stuff that came packaged on the heat sink, I guess they think it thermal cream. I don't know if it was a good idea or not but its still working, I used a tooth pick and on...

Re: What is a safe operating temp for netbooks?

"According to the Intel specification, the Atom processor is capable of handling a core temperature of up to 99 °C. However, should the unit reach the maximum temperature, due to bad housing ventilation for example, it is still able to protect itself using Thermal Monitor 2. The ICH7 southbridg...

Re: Big Newbie- NetBook Question

I just found a copy of win XP Launch Manager and installed it with Wine. Doesn't look like Acer makes 64bit programs. The "Fn" buttons work fine now all but the WIFi on/off button. But I can select WiFi or LAN from the task bar. One weird thing I've found though. Looks Like Linux on my com...
