Re: CPU overheating Amilo xi 3650

FireFox is a hog[Flash makes it worst] I have problems in Windows also...

Re: How to increase the size of a "existing swap file"

I use dphys-swapspace plus a Zram swap space: you can setup a max size once dphys is install by setting up a max size in /etc/dphys-swapfile. [default is 2048mb max] It dumps and recreates at shutdown and boot so just reboot after you change the max. $ sudo swapon -s [sudo] password for wyrdoak: Fil...

Re: Problem connecting school wireless network under Linux M

Let's just go with it for now using eth0 as your Ethernet and eth1 as your Wifi. I just haven't seen this setup before. If it's working for your other networks it should work.

Maybe someone with more networking experience will come around and help us out with this one.

Re: Problem connecting school wireless network under Linux M

After finding out my network manager wasn't "finding" my Ethernet card I changed network managers. Now with "wicd" I see both again, been meaning to do it, I like "wicd" better, but didn't get around to it 'til now. But you should have an entry like "eth0" for...

Re: Problem connecting school wireless network under Linux M

I would go with the "Protected EAP (PEAP)" The biggest thing is make sure it's "wlan" on your MAC address that is your WiFi card. the "eth" is your Ethernet Network Card. I'm connected to the Internet now with my Ethernet Card, but the computer says I'm not connected, I...

You could build a small clear png file in Gimp and point system-up to date to it that would give you a blank space until it found updates or while it was updating.

Re: Can't access or eject (some) USB storage after UP 7 [SOL

I had to port to wheezy then the pin gvfs down to keep from updating until a better version comes though.

Code: Select all

wyrdoak # apt-cache policy gvfs
gvfs:
  Installed: 1.12.3-4
  Candidate: 1.12.3-4
  Package pin: 1.12.3-4
  Version table:
     1.16.3-1+b2 1001
