Re: How to transfer background/wallpaper from 19.3 to 20

Are you sure it's not there? https://i.imgur.com/AFClOzw.png Yes, actually I see that one, and although if is very similar, I don't believe that it is the same version that is found under Mint 19.3. Edit: In going back and looking at it again, there was on one of the 2 that you show in your screens...

An additional question regarding the Firewall included with Mint 20

Is the firewall which is included in/with Mint 20 really necessary in light of the
fact that my Verizon router/modem already includes "Firewall" feature(s) i.e. is
it (one included in Mint 20) not redundant ?

Thanks.

relationship of Firewall & Warpinator under Linux MInt 20

Now that us Verizon ISP users can finally get back to using the Linux Mint forums here is a question. Is it true that if a user of Linux Mint 20 wants to take advantage of the Warpinator application to do file transfers, that they need to make sure to NOT to enable the new Firewall that is presented...

Re: Cannot reach Linux Mint Forums from Verizon network

I don't know if this matters any, but most website check sites report the forum is up. A few though, such as these, say it's down: https://hosting.review/check-if-website-is-down/ https://sitechecker.pro/website-down/ If I can post this message from a cell phone device which, by the way, is NOT, on...

Re: Cannot reach Linux Mint Forums from Verizon network

Since from what I can see that the only common factor in not being able to access the Linux mint forums is that all of the reported problems are coming from users who have Verizon as their ISP, is there any possibility that this problems lays with the Linux mint forums website instead of with Verizo...

Re: Cannot reach Linux Mint Forums from Verizon network

Talked to Verizon today via telephone about this problem. They promised me that they would have a solution by 5 o'clock & that they would call me by 5 o'clock to let me know the cause of the problem. Well as Gomer Pyle would say, surprise, surprise, no call & no explanation of this problem from Veri...

Linux mint forums can not be accessed

For the last several days Linux mint forums can not be accessed by any one who is using Verizon as ISP. All other websites and access thru other ISPs work just fine. Have reported this to Verizon but have not heard back frm them yet. Thanks. Any ideas as to what Verizon has broken ?

How to transfer background/wallpaper from 19.3 to 20

and transfer it to my soon to be install of Mint 20 ? I don't see that particular

Re: Evolution email client under Linux Mint version 20

Not until mint21 So if the same type of problems (could send but not receive emails) that plagued Evolution under 19.3 recently were to eventually develop under the version of Evolution that is now offered under Mint 20, that Evolution client would become basically useless just like the version und...

Re: format type for Linux OS & data

Thanks for your reply.

If I have 2 internal SSDs in my system, can I have /root on one SSD and then point the /home to
the other/2nd SSD ?

Not sure that would be best or most efficient solution, just thinking at this point.

Thanks.

format type for Linux OS & data

Can format type for Linux Mint OS and data be different types, i.e. can /root be Ext4 while /home is formatted as NTFS
or do both the / and /home both need to be Ext4 (or any other format of the same type) ?

Thanks.

Re: Evolution email client under Linux Mint version 20

With this newer/newest version of Evolution being used on Mint 20 is it going to be updated to subsequent versions that will keep up with technological changes so that we don't wind up with the same problem with the older version of Evolution that eventually got so that it would not work under Mint ...

Re: Question about using timeshift

If I had an extra USB hard drive to use for timeshift what would be the best format type for it ? I was reading somewhere that using Ext4 may NOT be the best choice. You don't have any choice in the matter. Timeshift requires ext4. This seems to say otherwise or am I misinterpreting what they are s...

Re: Question about using timeshift

How much space it takes up depends on how many snapshots you keep. I back up my files regularly with FreeFileSync, but I use TimeShift for those "I want to quickly go back a snapshot or two" occasions, when I've mucked up the installation of a package, my system is acting strangely, my dpkg/apt sys...

Question about using timeshift

Am going to be switching from Mint 19.3 to Mint 20 shortly. Have never used timeshift before. Am wondering if using timeshift on new Mint 20 install is worthwhile. Does timeshift take a great deal of drive space and is it so time consuming in using that just doing a complete reinstall of Mint would ...

Version 3.36.2 - https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal-updates/evolution
Will this version be available (via Synaptic) under Mint 20 without going the flatpak route, which
I am not sure is a good route/method to be used to install software.

Thanks.
