Re: What is CAJA - desktop

The github thread (see the link in the thread I mentioned) suggests it won't at present. Does anyone have any idea as to when this is going to be fixed. It would be quite embarrassing to recommend this OS to a friend and then have to try to explain to them why these 10 windows keep popping up on th...

Thanks.

What is CAJA - desktop

I created a bootable USB drive version of Mint 16RC.

Sometimes (but not always) when I boot to the USB key, I get 10 to 15 instances of windows names CAJA - DESKTOP.

What is this ?

Thanks.

Thanks.

How to restore desktop to new version ?

In Mint how do I go about moving the DESKTOP components from my old version of Mint to a new version of Mint ? Do I move the whole desktop folder in the new version to trash and then copy the old folder from my old version of Mint to the new version OR do I just delete the entries that are in the ne...

Re: No sound on U-tube

This sound was working fine last week but as I remember there were some updates available recently that involved the sound applications. It is my guess that these updates have broken the ability to play sound on Utubes. Does anyone know if whoever is writing this software is aware of what they have ...

strange behavior of Evolution email application

Several months ago I had created some subfolders / directories / under my INBOX in my Evolution email program to use to hold/store some emails that I wanted to make sure that I retained and would not accidentally delete them. Subsequently, some days later when I went into Evolution those subfolders ...

Hello, wpshooter. Oh, it is Epiphany, the intuitive Gnome webbrowser, as the Synaptic description tells. :? Now it is clear why I did not recognize it, it has not been installed here. Hello, wpshooter. Which Mint 13 edition are you using? Mate edition? Cinnamon edition? xcfe edition? KDE edition? (don't think it is KDE, no sign of KDE present) Have you used gnome-system-monitor or the command "ps axu" to find out which process has been launched for the browser that your screensh...

Hello, wpshooter. Have you clicked on the blue icon in order to find out which browser comes up? The only Mint 13 which I know that brings along the Firefox icon and a blue icon labelled "web browser" is Mint 13 xfce. And guess what, both icons launch Firefox. If I changed the default browse...

Reason that Mint 13 would not run on Dell Optiplex model 760

I just got thru a bout with trying to get Mint 13 to install and run properly on a Dell Optiplex model 760 desktop. I could get the OS installed and updated BUT I could not get it to be able to CONSISTENTLY "restart". It would shutdown fine every time. But if I wanted to do a restart, the majority (...

Re: Adobe flashplayer instead of Mint flash plugin

If you're having issues with the Mint plugin, then by all means, install the Adobe one. They cannot exist simultaneously, so you will have to uninstall the Mint plugin. Should this be installed from the Mint 13 package manager or directly from the Adobe website ? If from the Adobe website, will it ...
