Cinnamon 1.1.4 will have the option for disabling hotcorner.neomagician wrote: Also if we could permanently disable the setting on the upper left and not just hide it, that would be fantastic as I seem to activate it just by aiming the mouse its way, yet not actually going all the way to the corner...

Re: Question/Suggestion about Cinnamon desktop changer.
In fact, a similar solution already exists. In fact, a similar solution already exists. This is the GNOME Shell Frippery. If you look a little better workspace switcher is designed to save space on the panel. We should present an idea like this (or yours) on github.

Looking at Cinnamon's github there are a few interesting improvements coming: - Cinnamon Settings (https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon-settings) - Themes tab removed from the overview into Cinnamon Settings (https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/tree/master/js) - Added themes (https://github.com/...

Re: Mint 12 Tips & Tricks Guide (updated Dec 28)
Yes, not a port as such, a new theme inspired by a few light gnome shell themes - ran into some problems, though, it's very laggy, slower than both the default theme and Eleganse. Did you have issues with sluggishness porting your themes? Well I do not know how to say, slowness is determined by the...

@Daniel Porting minty would be great. Love that theme. Thanks   I have already contacted satya164 (creator of this theme) on the deviantart. He said that he was already started to working on Minty Cinnamon version but this will take some time. Greeting Sounds good - I'm half-finished wi...

Re: Mint 12 Tips & Tricks Guide (updated Dec 28)
I always use dark themes as well but I'm very slightly worried the current wall of grey default cinnamon theme will find its way into Mint 13 unless a classic Mintish white theme becomes available to use as a base if nothing else for an official Mint theme - you know, soft white gradient panel. Don...

is strictly necessary maintain the exposé-like windows select and the user-theme extension (the one opened by the botton in the top left corner) or they will be removed? I guess you are saying about hotcorner (top left corner button). Technically speaking it can be hided or removed now in Cinnamon ...

This is my Cinnamon 1.1.2 desktop on LM12. This is Cinnamon (not gnome shell) theme 'Eleganse' (originally Elegance by satya164) that I rewrote a little to my taste. For now, theme works well, but Clem and the rest of the team are planning some changes to the compatibility with the GS themes and int...

Re: Get classic Mint desktop in Gnome shell
Nice work! But i think the goal of this thread is being fulfilled with cinnamon. Not yet convinced myself forking the shell was the way to go but for the majority of mint users it probably is. Six months from now our new pet project will be porting shell extensions to cinnamon :) Yesterday I instal...

Re: Get classic Mint desktop in Gnome shell
Here my little contribution to your discovery: To make the ilussion complete, you can use the old menu icon simply editing line 281 of the new menu extension to: let icon_file = icon_path + "menu.png"; And if you use a MGSE compatible theme, you can also edit its stylesheet ( gnome-shell....

I think your graphic card does not have 3D acceleration(required by the Gnome Shell and Unity). These are legacy graphics cards, as well as the Geforce FX series, which also does not work in Gnome shellLomapur wrote:Too bad gnome-shell doesn't work on my geforce 4mx 440, dunno why..
