On a side note, opera was NOT installed for me.
BUT, there was a opera config file on home. Clearly it was tested with opera.
I use 11.11 and just love it.

Re: Problems with wi fi after standby
It really is advisable to NOT use standby.
Very hard on ram and the system and rarely works every time.
It really is advisable to just shut it down, done right Linux has a 41 to 46 second boot to use as it is.

Try running it with nomodset
see what happens.
Just tells it to NOT use kernel driver for GPU and use software drivers.

Re: Fix for compiz in Mint 11 Katya
allow me to point something out. The new compiz uses a different filing system then the older one. If you change a setting it will create a new folder with configs and starts your session over for the first time. After the first change, all else will work fine. Change a setting and let all reset and...

Re: Black Splash Screen = Bad Idea..
download and install via synaptic plymouth-theme-mint-logo plymouth-theme-mint-text You will notice natty also has the splash removed, for a reason. Natty changed how the startup took place with GPU drivers via kernel. Works fine on most systems to use the splash, on some it does not. Arv3n - might ...

Yes - tested as fully working on Intel x64 as well i3 i5 i7 tested Install is simple, use gdeb install tool , they are just deb packages pre compiled for ubuntu based distro's. There will be 2 header packs, 1 marked all and the other marked header. You need both to build needed headers. You also nee...

Re: Lenovo Edge E520 No Wireless
updating kernels has never been so easy for Linux these days. you will just have to play with kernel sets to find the one the delivers all. Remember to download BOTH header packs and image to build headers etc. Here you find pre compiled pre patch kernels http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainlin...

Re: "mint 11 The panel encountered a problem while loading"
simple solution for now is to make a custom launcher. use this code killall gnome-panel might take up to 6 to 8 times to get all apps to load. more apps you use in the panel, more likely the issue. The cause has been around a long time. Apps fail to load in time and time out or load the threads in t...

No human technology is infallible. Regardless of the software used, Hardware will always remain an issue till we progress to more perfection. So yes, I have seen updates go bad on Linux to. Re: flash issue with browsers
All it does is installs a ppa that will allow you to use a new , more updated flash on x64 systems.
The problem isn't an issue on x32 systems. All ya have to do is fully update x32.
