Re: wireless problem HP-G60 laptop

I do remember I had this card also working on ubuntu 10.10 based.

kernel upgrade and a linux firmware upgrade removed the support.

First thing you might try is a kernel downgrade.

Re: Some Apps Are Difficult To Setup - Please Mint Team!

until now , never even heard of them.

sure have no need for them.

quite positive none of my clients would have any need of them.

Kinda thinking they are more for the few who might use them.

Not trying to be rued, just saying there not for all.

Re: jumping to SSD, a few questions

I have done it on SSD a 1000 times with linux 1GB swap and the rest to root. Yes it will align them perfectly. Linux has a much better filing system then windows. if ya have any questions as you do it, just ask. with 6 GB of ram that swap partition will most likely NEVER be used as it is. BUT it has...

Re: jumping to SSD, a few questions

ether way, swap and root are the two partitions that are mandatory. Just no getting past that. The good news is swap is very rarely used and if you do a manual setup AKA advanced. For 4 GB systems 1 GB swap is plenty , for 2 GB systems 2 GB is plenty. 1 GB systems 2 GB works fine for me as well, sys...

Re: Grub Rescue

it pops up with a window, select install maintainers version , then another window pops up with listed partitions.

Just check all boxes.

If ya don't see this, ya might need to restart and try one more time. I have had it take twice a few times.

Re: Fan speed problem in HP G62

if it is custom compiled for mint 11 AKA natty.

I had to use synaptic and completely remove to purge due to them being added as custom deb's and NOT added as the .run.

Just search as FGLRX in synaptic.
