Re: Bluetooth stopped working after upgrading Mint

Boot to your older kernel. By the way the errors look, you must have a 4.0+ kernel I figured it out. Thank you :) Bluetooth simply won't work on Kernel 4+. Tried both 4.2 and 4.4. Thing is though. The 3+ kernels are giving me a different bug with PulseAudio. An annoying glitch where the audio will ...

Re: Flickering square around the mouse in Mint 17 Cinnamon

Not gonna try a differnet distro.
It's not that annoying.
What do you mean by fb driver?
On my Nvidia pc, there are a few drivers available.
On this one, none at all.
I can't even find an Intel Graphics HD 5500 driver for linux.

[Solved] Bluetooth stopped working after upgrading Mint

Hi there. So bluetooth stopped working after I did an upgrade yesterday. I'm running Mint 17 btw. I've tried with both bluez and blueman, but with no luck. I tried "sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart" but even though the terminal said it's started, I can't start it from the bluetooth menu. It's alwa...

Re: Flickering square around the mouse in Mint 17 Cinnamon

Thanks. Any version in particular? There are like a ton of v4.2 and 3 of v4.4. Are they all stable, or what? And there are no description about the kernel and not change log describing what's new in each version. I think they should have that. Because that's kinda important. EDIT: Tried one 4.2 kern...

Flickering square around the mouse in Mint 17 Cinnamon

Hi there guys.
There's a flickering square around the mouse whenever I move the mouse. The square seems to be from the desktop background.
This is super annoying.
If there is a fix, how do I fix it?

Re: Audio crackles and stutters every few minutes

For those of you still having this issue (in which I had until just recently) I have found a solution. This will not only fix the problem as it relates to the sound crackling every other minute or so, but also make the audio a whole lot better. NOTE! This particular PPA will ONLY work for Mint 17 an...

I've already thought of that and completely removed mate, cara and all its relatives.
But thanks anyway.

Re: Cinnamon terminal doesn't work

No I removed Mate.
And never mind. I fixed it myself by installing and setting gnome-terminal as the default terminal.

Cinnamon terminal doesn't work

Hi. I'm using Mint 17 w/ Cinnamon. I initially installed Mint 17 Mate, but hated it so I decided to install the Cinnamon DE instead.
The terminal doesn't open on ctrl+alt+t, and the right click "open in terminal" doesn't work either.
Is there a package missing or something?

Re: How to change my IP?

"then changing the IP address on any device on your local network will do absolutely nothing for you"
I know. But I was able to do that and I was just curious as to how/if I can do this.

Re: How to change my IP?

"I know this is dumb, but are you testing every device individually in whatismyip.com ???. are all your devices connected to the same wifi/router/hotspot/lan" Yes and yes. Testing on PC give me the ip xxx.xx.xxx.206 and ipad gives me xxx.xx.xxx.43 and PS4 ends with 16. @chrissuninchina I am using a ...

Re: How to change my IP?

See. All my devices (PS4, ipad and pc) has the same IP, but the last digits are different.
On my pc, the ip is xx.xxx.xx.179. On my ipad, it's xx.xxx.xx.43. See what I mean?
That's what I need to change. The last digits. Not the actual IP.

Re: How to change my IP?

Thanks for you replay.
But I don't wanna use a VPN.
My internet connection gets slow whenever I use an VPN. I've tried a few free and paid ones.
I know it should be possible to change the whatismyip.com ip address, because all of my devices has a different one (the 3 last digits).

How to change my IP?

Hi I'm using Mint 17.
I know I can change the last few digits of my IP address (the one from whatismyip.com).
Under Windows, from what I can remember, I was able to change it under IPV6.
Any idea how to do this, what to do and if it's even possible under Linux Mint?

How do I set proxy for specific software w/o rebooting?

Hello. I need to set a proxy for ffmpeg only. How do I do that? If that's not possibly, then I have to set the proxy system-wide, right? So how do I do that? I need to be able to do this without rebooting. The only method I'm familiar with is a system-wide proxy and requires rebooting. Btw, I'm usin...
