Re: No Sound MATE 19.2 Fusion5 Lapbook T50

After posting the above terminal result, I powered down and back up. The file was written and is where it should be. The speaker icon in the system tray is back to being grayed out. Additionally, bytcr-rt5651 device is no longer listed in control panel > sound. The only device listed now is Built-in...

The command ran until a terminal prompt appeared again and it had completed. The result was just so large I had to break it down into 3 concurrent posts above

Re: No Sound MATE 19.2 Fusion5 Lapbook T50

Wanted to try MrEen's solutions before going to a 5.0 series kernel. I'm not using HDMI as far as I know. Just the lapbook speakers and/or headset in a default fresh 19.2 Mate install. Results of MrEen's suggestion. After running each line one at a time, the code seemed to work and move files around...

[SOLVED] No Sound MATE 19.2 Fusion5 Lapbook T50

Stumble fumbled around trying to cobble together various solutions to get sound from this Fusion5 lapbook T50. Right now I've reinstalled 19.2 Mate for the third time today and have a fresh install and not going to try anything else until hopefully someone with "goD mode" knowledge can step inside. ...

Uhm. Was that not the kernel 4.15.0-24 fiasco? - Sorry for being picky about such small details.
You are correct sir. I was going off memory, I'm old and it was late (typo) D'OH
But yeah, kernel update fiasco about this time last year was the gist of it.

Re: Update Manager

Kernel 4.15.9-24 was released about this time last year as an update in Mint 19 and many users found their computer would not boot past grub. And this was shortly after the release of Mint 19 and the change from the level system in Mint Update. It was a good couple of weeks before a corrected kerne...

Re: 19.2 and RTX 2060

I'm not using the beta. https://community.linuxmint.com/iso/view/583 I'm using that. 19.1 was no better. Secure Boot is disabled. I suppose I'll take my questions elsewhere. Sorry for annoying this community. :D ... whoa. What's with the attitude? Now, take a look at the link you just posted. On th...

Re: 19.2 and RTX 2060

Being new to Mint, why start with a possibly buggy beta release (19.2)? Beta releases are for experienced users to run through the paces to find any issues. Not for newbs. Why not install the latest stable release, 19.1? That said, 19.2 should release soon as a stable release. Regardless which versi...

Cool !!! And I agree, Mate is best ;)
Now replace the hard drive on your "ancient and decrepit" computer with an SSD drive and you'll think you have a brand new computer.

Re: STOP Firefox!

Look on the right of the toolbar, after the URL (address) box. There should either be an "X" - to stop page load OR a "Circle with an arrow" - for page refresh. There will only be one icon, either "X" and "Circle with arrow". If you do not find it, check under the box with three lines, for Firefox "...
