Thanks guys. Yes, I'm waiting for Mint 19 and got to know there will be no KDE version for it, so preparing myself ahead of time! :)
But that's not what I got from your first post. There, I thought you wanted just the KDE Plasma start menu in XFCE (which you prefer for its simplicity).

Re: KDE Plasma in XFCE

Is there anyway to get the Plasma start menu in Mint XFCE without installing the full KDE package? I'm guessing the smallest you can get is with "plasma-desktop". Still a heck of a lot of stuff to install just for a start menu. I suggest you get to know XFCE's Whisker menu as well as keyboard short...

Thanks, Timeshift was not backing my home partition.
https://community.linuxmint.com/software/view/timeshift indicates it only takes snapshots of your system, not of your home partition.

How do I mark the question as SOLVED?
You have to edit the title of the first post with (SOLVED) or something similar.

Re: control button in dolphin

Hello all, I have a bit of a silly question. My one year old got hold of my laptop and somehow made it so that the Control button in dolphin (see picture) vanished. Now i can't find how to get it back... control.png I looked for it in the configure toolbar section but there is no control button the...

where is this file?
Do you have ~/.config/kwinrc? In KDE Plasma 5.8.9, the first section in that file deals with compositing.

I read elsewhere that FF gets its font spec from the o/s. If so, how do I make these modifications in Linux Mint (xfce)?
Look at https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx/releases/ for how to use userChrome.css.

The command I found in the Manual for inxi.... But you have not bothered to post any inxi commandline, just some screen output, which inxi has never displayed on any of my Ubuntu or Linux Mint systems. You can see that with inxi --recommends from man inxi --recommends Checks inxi application depend...

By the user comments at the bottom it's now in Firefox 60 Beta so i assume they want it tested for a bit longer.
Ok. Thanks!

Is there a command that I can issue, like 'apt-get' something that will look for missing stuff and put it back?
When you run sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get upgrade are there any lines in the output that point to something being out of order?

Does sudo dpkg -C give any output at all?

Re: "Maximized" windows have small border; keep missing "close" button with mouse cursor

@fromWinToLin, some applications accept "--open-maximized" as a switch. You could modify the .desktop file's "Exec=" line accordingly for such applications. Alternatively, your window manager may allow you to set application-specific rules for normal windows (as opposed to dialogue windows). BTW, wh...

If you don't want to use sudo, find has "-prune". I found it hard to understand at first but it's really neat!
