Re: AVI to DVD conversion?

After reading your first post I gave ManDVD a try (.avi to DVD) - I still have to burn the DVD and test it, but so far it worked flawlessly with Mint (Cassandra)... I'll post the results once I've burned the DVD...

Thanks for drawing my attention to it... it's very intuitive.

I think the Light Edition was also to allow legal use of the distro in a few countries with funny patent laws...

Re: KDE 4.0? It sure looks sweet

It does look sweet, but it seems a massive amount of degguging still remains before it's ready to use without driving you up the walls... So if we can have it in Mint 5, it probably be a lot smoother... ;-)

Re: KDE stable release

For those interested, Ars Technica has a review of KDE4 RC2, with a few screenshots and all...

A first look at KDE 4.0 release candidate 2

While it looks nice, it seems a lot of debbuging is still needed :-(

Re: Few thoughts and questions after try Mint...

Hi,

We should have the Daryna KDE edition soon enough... perhaps even this week. See Husse's comment:

Re: Western Digital drive is DRM-crippled for your safety

Nevertheless it's not a nice trend... the vendor has no business policing what I might try to do with something I legally purchased... especially when it's a legitimate use! WD is now off my "acceptable vendors list" and will stay there...

I think you may have to upgrade separately if you want it, I believe Boo didn't find it stable enough to be included yet...

Re: Few thoughts and questions after try Mint...

Hi, Glad you like our favorite distro... welcome to the Mint community! I'll try to answer a few of your questions: A fresh install is the surest way for now, but usually Clem will give upgrade instructions for those who don't want to re-install. You'll need to follow them closely though, as it may ...
