Well, I'd like to put in my two cents: if anyone's going to ask for help, doing it politely has nothing to do with knowing how to use a forum, it's just basic, common courtesy. Asking seemingly stupid questions because you don't know the platform is one thing - I have and probably will ask my share ...

Caramba encore raté! Mon suisse-allemand est inexistant. :D Blöde, ça doit être stupide, non? Could you kindly translate, so I may understand at least a few shreds of what my fellow Swiss speak on the other side of the Röstigraben? And well, I might have speaking Italian. Or, more exotically, Romanc...

Good luck... You know, checksum before and after burning is your friend... it saved me a lot of frustration. ... and then you'll have the girl of your dreams! The one who'll boot with no errors! Well, I'll give it a try over the week-end. By that time I guess you'll have shared your experienc...

[Resolved] KDE card Games - invisible?
Ok, I got my cards to reappear and WITHOUT David Copperfield. I found the answer on KDE bugtrack (bug 67092), eventually. :D I'm posting the solution in case someone else has the same problem. In fact it was caused by my old KDE settings - I've a dual boot with a common /home, both KDE. So, a rm .kd...

Re: KDE card Games - invisible?
If you like excitement, why don't you download David Copperfield ? Hi Npap! Thanks for the welcome... I kinda like it here... Now, you've never tried the card games, have you? :D 'cause it's not what I'd call exciting , it's more like a kind of chewing gum for the eyes while I'm concentrating on so...

[Resolved] KDE card Games - invisible?
Hello, I installed KDE - my favorite environment so far - on top of the default Gnome. As I don't like the look of the Gnome card games I installed the KDE set and surprise! Everything looks normal except for the lack of cards. I can choose the game, the bottom of the screen indicates one mo...

From what I've seen - I've had a quick look around - it seems light, and highly customizable, given you're not afraid to go and work with what's under the hood. Supposedly it plays nice with Gnome, too. The screenshots I saw where quite nice, but it doesn't mean it works. That's basically why I aske...

Anyone tried FVWM-Crystal?
I stumbled on it recently, and I realised I've never had any feedback about it... most people I know are set on KDE or Gnome, with the occasional XFCE user...
So has anyone here given it a shot?
Thanks...

Better Boot Screens
Hello, New to Mint, and I enjoy it a lot now - but I must admit that I have to second Darkelve regarding the boot screen. The first impression I had after the HDD install was the text at boot - and I hadn't seen it for a while unless I'd selected the verbose mode (I've a dualboot with SUSE) - it fel...
