Why not use AptOnCD?

What kind of modem/router do you have?

I'm not sure how long the usb drive would last with the swap partition on it... they do have a finite number of writes, after all...
Or I'm just over-pessimistic.

It might not be what you were hoping for in terms of help, but perhaps you should post/move this in the "Bugs in Daryna" section...
I suspect most people who have a clue about what could be wrong will have more chances of spotting it...

Thanks for sharing... I agree, the effect is quite nice... I've no idea whether there is an equivalent in Gnome, being a KDE user myself...
