I know it won't be exact, just a rough idea would be good
The best rough answer is "WIR".

Re: Any news on Linux Mint 12 LXDE?

Mr Green,

To the best of my knowledge there will be no 64 bit version of Lisa LXDE.

For that you would want to go with either 64 bit gnome or debian and install after-market LXDE.

Re: Opinion of Mint 12 LXDE Rc

Thank you Vincent. That is a good idea and I will give it a try.

I may have answered my own question about LXMED. I can't seem to get it to work in Lisa. I did get it to work in Katya but it seems to be upgraded since then. It is also java based.

Anyone else out there using LXMED?

Opinion of Mint 12 LXDE Rc

Hi, Just downloaded Lisa LXDE RC. So far I love what I'm seeing (using it now) but I have 2 requests for Clem, Fred & Developers. 1 How hard is it to include lxrandr? This was missing from Katya LXDE as well. I know how to install it but chances ae the average noob does not. Even the most basic dist...

Re: Login with "Numlock" on

Seppalta,

That did the trick. I had to use the second option as there was no gdm file on my system

Thanks for the help. Numlockx was available in software manager.

Many thanks,

Re: Login with "Numlock" on

Thanks you for the suggestions: AlbertP- I checked in my BIOS and there is no section for NumLock. Seppalta- I've used that resource before for other LXDE tweaks. It's very useful but I find nothing pertaining to NumLock in the autostart section. You have given me a better starting point though. Tha...

Login with "Numlock" on (SOLVED)

Using Mint 11 LXDE. Love how lightweight and fast it is.

One annoyance is that when I startup every morning I have to hit NumLock manually.

Is there a way to make it automatic at startup like it was in gnome?

Thanks in advance,

Anyone use Webex with Java JVM?

Does anyone use webex with Linux Mint?

I'm trying to view presentations and I get a JVM error. I have the open source version that comes with Mint but Webex says I need the real Java.

I tried doing what the java website said but to no avail.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: VirtualBox questions

I've always done the full install on my vboxes. When you go to install the OS in the vbox tell it that the iso is the cd and it will install. When done change the cd back to your normal cd/dvd drive in the devices menu before you reboot. You get the most functionality that way. Hope this helps- Miam...

Re: Mint 11 no updates

The updates are different for everyone. They are dependent on what programs you have installed with your mint. If you are ever in doubt you can right click the check shield and tell it to refresh. I will sometimes go weeks without an update, then I may get more than one in a day. If all is working w...

Re: Clem is awesome.

IMHO Clem is very strong at giving the community of users what they desire. I've found Mint to be well worth the price I've paid. MSFT is overpriced crapware & AAPL is just a bit too into pay for play. Besides, Mint helps me keep my "tech fleet" alive and running. Four 'puters ranging from 4-10 year...

Re: I can't work in Linux Mint 12

Jucarave,

Welcome to the forum!

I have had great succes with that type of hardware (and even older) using either 11 LXDE or 9 Gnome (LTS).

11 is extremely lightweight. 9 Gnome is nearly as lightweight and has long term support until mid 2013.

Hope this helps,

There was a very recent update of virtualbox.

Perhaps that may have had something to do with it.
