Re: system slows when nvidia drivers installed

only other suggestion I have is for you to manually install the latest nvidia drivers for your 9500GT. the instructions are on the Additional Information tab, and you can browse the tutorial sections and also the community site tutorials for more info . . http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-display-...

Re: system slows when nvidia drivers installed

I'd like to suggest that you check to see if there are any xorg updates available for you. Log into the Update Manager -> Preferences -> Levels tab, and check only the Visible box for levels 4 and 5. Now close and reload the Update Manager . . are there any xorg updates ? (usually level 4) xserver-...

What kernel are you running ? If you want to, from the Terminal : Update the inxi info program first : sudo inxi -U Then copy/paste back here the output from this command : inxi -Fx System: Host: desktop Kernel: 2.6.32-21-generic x86_64 (64 bit, gcc: 4.4.3) Desktop Gnome 2.30.2 Distro: Linux Mint 9...

sata speed question

how do i figure out if mint is running in sata or sata 2? both hdds are sata 2 capable, mobo is sata 2 capable, there is no option in the bios to set the speed. I'm running mint 9 64bit. i have noticed that when transfering large amounts of data it maintains a steady 86MB/s. for some reason i feel l...

(SOLVED) Re: mint 9 gnome 64bit and cpu upgrade

That shouldn't be an issue. I replaced my entire motherboard + cpu + memory without needing to reinstall :D The one point where it may differ is if you have manually added or changed the cpu power management module (or "driver" if you prefer). If you have no clue what I'm talking about, or do but a...

Re: Bye Bye Linux Mint 11 - Testimonial

I have only had Mint 11 main 64bit installed for a few days, but i have to give it an A. I have of course had to deal with a few issues. Things like video tearing, and issues with the new compiz. The video tearing was easily fixed with a few edits to the xorg.conf file. The compiz issues were also e...
