Re: mint 14 freezing up?? a lot and my system locks

what i did was uninstall gnome-classic and fallback,so,i only have cinnamon and cinnamon 2d as desktops, removed most of my unused programs, and it seems to work fine now.oh and i am running 32bit instead of 64bit.dont know if the 64bit is the problem, but,it seems a bit buggy to me.32 runs better.

man,another failure with mint 14

okay,i love what the mint team does.they do a great job,but,unfortunately,mint 14 cinnamon 32bit went disastrous on me.it takes over a minute,all of a sudden,to boot up,programs arent operating well anymore,buggy screens,mouse does what it wants now,and to add on,firefox 17.0.1 is terrible.i think i...

Re: Mageia 2??

i agree with stability and nebie use, but, that vanilla look aint too impressive to me.for stability i was with opensuse 12.2 kde.it was very, very awesome.only problem was when i upgraded that kde to the latest,it hid my mint 14 partitions from which was a pain,so,i took opensuse off.for kde i recomme...

Mageia 2??

i have had the Mageia 2 32bit dvd for a while and i finally had the chance to install it on an external harddrive.the most catchy thing about it was the custom option for D.E choices,Gnome,KDE,or LXDE.it installed in about 35 minutes with all three desktops selected.the install for my bcm4312 wasnt ...

Re: what happened to the extract here command??

yes its 1.1.2.but right after the install on 64bit the commands didnt work at all.ill stay with the 32bit since it works and boots up a lot faster.and i hate to say that my Win7 Ultimate x64 boots up wy faster than these new linux kernels.so the 32 im okay with.

Re: remastersys dead or alive???

Those are probably due to a network share mounted with gvfs since gvfs mounts everything in your home folder. You have to ensure that you don't have any network shares mounted or that you don't have any virtual machines or anything in your home folder. If you do, you should exclude them prior to re...
