Re: Linux mint 14 Nadia Mate and Compiz cube etc

The screenshot program is in Accessories in the Menu. I put a launcher on my panel for it. To get a picture of the cube, you have to use the delay feature, then activate the cube and wait for the delay to run out while holding the cube still.

My cube screenshot. I never had Mint 13 so I can't comment on that. I'm using Mint 14 Mate.

Re: Linux mint 14 Nadia Mate and Compiz cube etc

I also had a problem with the workspace switcher, but it disappeared when I changed the Desktop Size under General Options from 2 horizontal rows and 2 vertical rows to 4 horizontal and 1 vertical. My cube works fine and I don't have any of the special effects set.

Even easier, add a panel object named "Force Quit" to your panel.

Re: Can't install FireFTP for Firefox

I used FireFTP for years, but I got aggravated by it breaking when there was an update to Firefox and I would get an error message about the extension not being compatible. And would have to wait for the extension to be updated. I need my FTP client every day to maintain my web pages, So I switched ...

Wrong sound device selected at start up.[Solved]

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, so if a moderator wishes to move it, go ahead. My problem is, I have a Nvidia Geforce 550Ti which has it's own HDMI output which includes sound. I am not using the sound, but instead using my on board analog device for sound. But when I start m...

Re: Copy to USB devices slow and problematic

By trying from the command line with the same results, it is obvious that the problem does not lie with Nautilus. I have no further suggestions, hope this gets fixed by a system update.

Re: Copy to USB devices slow and problematic

Is there a difference if you don't use Nautilus?

Try using the copy command instead.

Code: Select all

sudo cp /filetobecopied /dev/nameofdevice

Re: Copy to USB devices slow and problematic

I am not having any problem with copying files to a USB device, but from reading this I am wondering if perhaps it could be a permissions problem. What happens if you try to copy as sudo?

Re: Quicken 2012

Kmymoney is good, you might also look at Skrooge, I've heard good things about it. If you accounting needs are greater, if you are running a business and need all of the features for that, then Gnucash is what you want. All of them will import your current Quicken files.
