No sound on new HP dv3z laptop

First of all, kudos for a great OS. I couldn't wait, and so I have LinuxMint_RC1 running on one of my desktop's -- flawlessly. It is pretty much a vanilla configuration, ASUS motherboard, with Intel DuoCore Celeron processor, Intel graphics and sound (82801G - ICH7 family), an Attansic ethernet conn...

Re: Linux Mint 6 XFCE released! -- Question About Ram

This probably belongs in the noobie section, and if I have posted in the wrong place, I understand if this has to be moved. Anyway, here goes.... I have an HP Slimline with an AMD 64 bit CPU and 4 GB of ram. Will an installation of Linux Mint XFCE (or Gnome for that matter) allow me access to the fu...

Re: The MASTER KDE CE update thread!

You will never know how to use KDE 4.2 if you don't stick with it. It may have bugs that you may have to work out. But learning a new interface is possible. I don't know how KDE 3.5.10 works since I barely used it. But I find KDE 4.2 to be simple and efficient. Like I said, I have been using Mint6 ...

Re: The MASTER KDE CE update thread!

I'm not a really active member, but one who has installed and used LinuxMint 5.0 Main, 6.0 Main, 6.0 XFCE (very briefly). As a committed KDE person, I haven't been as active a LinuxMint user in the past because of your preference for Gnome. But I was excited about the announcement of 6.0 CE KDE 4.2,...

SOLVED: Netgear WG311v3 - Can not connect to my ESSID

Although I have been a member of your Forums for some time, I installed the new XFCE Mint 6 yesterday to a new desktop I have in my home office. The computer: ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 Motherboard with an Intel EM64T Dual Core Processor (945GC chipset) running at 2.20 GHz 2 GB of Ram, 160 GB Maxtor 6Y160MO ...

Re: IBM Lotus Symphony

900i, I own you an apology. I didn't do my homework on this regarding the licensing of this product before I made the recommendation. It seems that Lotus Symphony is governed by something called the 'International License Agreement For Non-Warranted Programs'. If anyone is actually interested in fin...

Re: IBM Lotus Symphony

Why do you want a supposed inferior product; http://www.linux.com/feature/137876 An opinion, and one that may be true for the time being. I guess I had the mistaken idea that this product was still in active development and that IBM customers were using it in conjunction with their hardware relatio...

IBM Lotus Symphony

I have been posting this suggestion on many of the forums that I frequent..... Has any thought, or discussion gone on about adding Lotus Symphony to our repositories, as an alternative to Open Office? IBM has recently released the product as open source and mention that Red Hat and Suse are starting...
