Re: The unofficial LMDE Xfce UP6 SR1

Decided to give this a try, all i can say is great job. It runs very quick on my box and so far i haven't had any issues at all.
Only thing i thought i had downloaded the KDE version by accident, after a few seconds i figured it out. All in all so far a great job.
Thank you.

Re: Update pack 6 chat/questions/support thread

Running the xfce version everything went smoothly. I cant be certain but it seems even faster than before. I used the device driver manager to instal the latest PAE kernel and video drivers and all went well. I am really pleased so far.
Great work

Re: Getting rid of a password

there are some distroes that let you run as root and dont ask you for a password for everything. I don't think its safe to run as root like that its the same thing as running your windows as admin it can get you into trouble quickly if your on the web and get hijacked. Puppy linux comes to mind lupo...

Re: trying to run Shredder

sounds like you need to cd to the place where you down loaded it.im assuming its in the Downloads folder so in terminal type cd Downloads if that isnt where it is cd to that place. Might also want to run ls (small L) after cding to to be sure your in the correct spot.
