Re: suspend is not really suspended

Thanks Bu99zy. Unfortunatelly that doesn't help. The right package were already installed… Your line result is: method return sender=:1.21 -> dest=:1.252 reply_serial=2 That doesn't help much either. By the way I am running gnome3.4 and the motherboard bios has been updated. Any other ideas will be ...

suspend is not really suspended

Hello, On my PC, LMDE up to date, but since the begining (2 years) when I go to suspend the computer looks suspended as only the power led is on and I have to hit the power button to wake up the PC, but the fans are still running and when opening the computer during this time it appears the hard dis...

Re: Missing packages

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.
I am not used to Debian PTS. Even written I am not sure I would have noticed as I am not familiar with the process.
If I face again this surprising "missing package" I will have a look to try to understand by myself.

Best regards

Missing packages

Hi, I am using LMDE since more than one year. Since the last major update, it seems many packages are no more available I was trying to find BOINC. Nothing appears with synaptic. I have had the same problem with some other small tools I was wanting to try, but I forget which package as it was not so...

Re: Keyboard shortcut Handling in Cinnamon; Copy&Paste

I think both methods exist. Each soft is waiting both for a key combination and for a direct order. I explain myself. I am using a typematrix keyboard. there are special keys for cut copy and paste. And they work as well in libreoffice, firefox… and with the terminal wich otherwise request CTRL+MAJ+...

Re: Random Freeze Ups??

Have you try to check the logs out at the time of the freeze?
Have you tested the memory. Not all is used all the time and you may use some part of the ram usually not used with W? (Check the memory from a recovery disk or option to select when booting)

Re: Problem running "sudo emacs"

Hi, It actually sound logical. When running emacs you run under your own account, while when running sudo emacs it is has running emacs from root. I guess you haven't set up your own setting in the "root home". I don't use this kind of tricks, but there is probably a default setting used by root in ...

Re: Ram & CPU - LMDE Xfce vs. LXDE

Using an add on to kill the scripts on FF would probably also be a great help.

in a terminal do the top command. it will show you what is keeping your CPU busy. it is unlikely to be Xfce or Lxde. The difference is normally not so big… So changing won't be the good solution.

Sure!

In the software manager, select Mate-desktop and install it.
Then restart (or at least log out) and when loggin in again, select Mate in the list.

It should be enough
