Re: desktop theme changes not being applied

You need to go into Other Settings, the main Themes tab just changes your Cinnamon theme (the shell, not windows)

Re: Chrome with Cinnamon

Packages are tested upstream by Debian/Ubuntu - Mint certainly haven't tested every single package in the repos to see if they work well with Mint, greatly understaffed for that.

Re: Chrome with Cinnamon

Programs aren't unsafe just because they aren't in the official repos. I've added the Chrome repo and it works flawlessly on Mint 14 Cinnamon.

"I don't like Crome" is fiercely irrelevant, uninteresting and unhelpful in a support thread.

Use Scale or Expo for quick overviews if you have a lot of windows open

Re: Chrome with Cinnamon

In a clean Cinnamon environment there is no issue - your problem must derive from running multiple sessions.

Re: Ubuntu Tablet

Why would an OS made exclusively for the desktop be better on a tablet than a dedicated touch OS? The Ubuntu concept looks very well constructed and very well thought out, and tailor made for a tablet. MATE/Cinnamon on a tablet would just be daft.

Re: Ubuntu Tablet

The UI looks interesting and smart, but I'm disappointed there was nothing to actually reveal other than a concept, bit of a pointless announcement.

Re: All Desktop Screenshots - February 2013

You can probably guess what OS this is: http://i.imgur.com/A0izAEd.png http://i.imgur.com/esJiPOt.png I knew Metro was going to be a touch friendly experience but I'm surprised at how bothersome it is if you don't use it with a touchscreen. It's not, like Gnome Shell and to some extent Unity, a desk...

Re: Menu's hidden behind inverted transparent panel

That looks like an AWN dock running behind a Cinnamon panel. It's certainly not a Cinnamon issue.

Well, it's a bit weird, then, that desktop Linux is more popular and more widely used than ever before, isn't it?

Re: What if Ubuntu goes away

I think people are using their mice wrong or I'm blessed with an unusually strong wrist. Been using a mouse for going on 2 decades now and never even been a bit strained. I'm pretty sure using a tablet - which requires more of your arm/fingers/wrist/hand than resting a hand on a mouse does - brings ...

Re: Cinnamon development news

rjanja is doing most of the work integrating installation of applets (and eventually themes and extensions) into Cinnamon Settings/System Settings - still early days but I'll add some screenshots later, if possible. The work landed in Cinnamon Nightly today and here's how the new applet page in Cin...

Re: Please test and rate my new cinnamon themes!

there's an error, or a lack of feature in Cinnamon that prevents me from taking screenshots when any menu or applet is open So how do you explain that most theme screenshots show an applet popup? :) It works fine, just set the screenshot program with a capture delay (e.g. 5 seconds), show desktop, ...

I have Bumblebee installed and it works perfectly in with my Nvidia Optimus. I haven't tried switching graphics for Steam but here are people to guide you through: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/LinuxOptimus

Don't wait around for an official Optimus driver for Linux,

Re: Please test and rate my new cinnamon themes!

And if you do more themes, it's much easier to base a theme off the default theme's cinnamon.css (The theme called "Cinnamon"), and then copy what you need from a gnome.shell.css into it, rather than base it on a gnome-shell.css and port it to cinnamon.

Re: Please test and rate my new cinnamon themes!

Hi DA, the theme is not broken, everything's working as it should :) Minor things: - be sure to check that the panel looks good both in top and bottom panel setups, it looks a bit weird at the top. - the border-radius in popup menus is off because your image has a 13px border radius (or thereabouts)...
