Re: [Gaming] Linux MInt using "Steam."

Not much of a gamer but played TF2 via steam on Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon just to see if it worked - it did :)

For some reason gaming has never been big in here - not a lot of games threads and no dedicated subforum. Maybe that'll change soon with Steam coming to Linux.

MDM (old GDM) themes: http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xsortmo ... ntmode=150

I haven't seen any GDM themes trying to mimic LightDM aesthetics.

Re: Please, something that just works!

If you have spent money on a Linux distro, that's your problem, and the issue is best taken up with those distros. Mint is free. I have issues with Mint great and small but you can't really moan about something that is offered to you for free, especially not hardware support which is almost entirely...

Hehe, that theme is by debimint :)

You simply delete your old Void folders and put the new ones in their place.

Re: Please, something that just works!

Blatantly mis-directed frustration. The responsibility is purely the hardware manufacturer's who often neglect or simply disregard linux support as the market share is not big enough to warrant the extra expenses developing drivers for linux. This is, generally, not a problem Microsoft has - and if ...

Do you have an example you can't get Transmission to open? I never ran into anything Transmission couldn't open. Magnet link support in Transmission was added ages ago.

Re: wallpaper sizes - guide / help?

I haven't noticed a Linux specific way of doing this - usually wallpapers come in a folder with a set of 3-4-5-6-7 versions for some of the standard resolutions. Here's a good example of how to package wallpapers: http://bo0xvn.deviantart.com/art/16-195628281 (you can get away with less resolutions,...

Re: Hej from Sweden!

Yeah, the Danish section is even less busy than the Swedish. I guess the average Scandinavian poster is comfortable enough writing in English to need a Scandinavian language forum, and there's obviously a better chance of feedback when you write in English. I suggested once to have a pan-Scandinavia...

Synapse is great (Gnome Do too but it was discontinued long ago) but I haven't tried it in Cinnamon. It can be found in Software Manager, try it out (launch combo is/was Ctrl+Space).
