Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Not yet, and I'm dont have access to my Linux mint 12 computer right now so I can't try it at the moment. How would you edit the mint-z theme to get reflection to work?

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

I have had trouble with maximised windows with the reflection extension. The panel overlaps maximised windows instead of staying solid. I haven't been able to find a fix. Otherwise, I am having few problems with the gnome shell/extensions
Thanks.

Making XFCE closer to gnome 2.32

Hi,
I have been working with XFCE a little bit and I wanted to see what some people have done to make it seem/act more like gnome 2.32. In my case, I use pretty much the default LMDE desktop, but with the mint menu and (depending on how I feel  ), AWN.

Re: Mint 12 Lisa Final

No, the cd version doesn't include MATE, although I doubt (but I'm not sure) it would affect Gnome 3. Personally, I have had few issues with Linux Mint 12. I have had a few problems with speed but I attribute that to virtual box, as the live dvd (without updates) was mostly fine.

Re: Unofficial Post Your Linux Mint Desktop Thread

Here is my VBox installation of Lisa with some extensions: One that looks like gnome 2.32 http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6040/6379993143_c213035506_z.jpg One that also sort of looks like gnome 2.32: http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6044/6379981633_6c9af45b79_z.jpg P.S. The first picture is supposed to h...

Re: Triple Boot Windows Vista, Linux Mint 12, and LMDE

Ok, thanks! I will install Lisa and LMDE once the Lisa stable release comes out, and I will probably use grub because the main reason (apparently) for using the windows boot loader is that grub can break after a service pack update and I don't think that there will be another one for windows vista. ...

Re: Triple Boot Windows Vista, Linux Mint 12, and LMDE

I haven't tried scribus, however there are other reasons that I have for keeping Windows. If nothing else, it can run itunes and there is no real reason to get rid of it. FYI I use publisher 2007. I have decided to install mint 12 when the stable release comes out. Right now, I have a 530 GB Windows...

Re: Triple Boot Windows Vista, Linux Mint 12, and LMDE

Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure if this is important but mint4win adds a large .disk file and actually uses the windows vista bootloader sort of - if you select Linux Mint it then goes into grub. When you uninstall mint4win grub gets uninstalled too. Can I upgrade the Lisa rc to the stable releas...

[Solved] Triple Boot Windows Vista, Linux Mint 12, and LMDE

Hi I have a Windows Vista machine, and I would like to run Linux Mint on it, as well as windows vista, apart from what I have already done with Mint4win. I would like to have the main release as well as the LMDE XFCE release, as I would like to try XFCE. I know about partitioning, but I am not too f...
