Re: Size of the individual sections on panels
I don't think you can, at the moment, except perhaps with fiddling with the panel's code. But I'm no programmer, so you'd better wait for some informed advice

Re: A couple of remarks about future versions of Cinnamon
Yup, CinnaDock is limited in functionality, and hasn't been updated for quite some time now. It even doesn't work with 1.5.2 (a small change will fix that). Now I use Docky On the plus side, Cinnadock seems to be more stable on LM 13 than on 12, but yes, it's limited and it seems to not be develope...

Re: A couple of remarks about future versions of Cinnamon
Yep I know about Cinnadock, it'd be enough with a little bug-fixing (it has its quirks, and it's an extension: going to see how well it works with Maya) and better configuration options. A Cinnamon-compatible version of Gnome Shell's dock would be even better though. A dock is an important addition ...

Re: Any news on Cinnamon?
Is there any way to get new features in maya without nightly PPA? I'm a bit nervous and would prefer a "stable" PPA or something less risky. I thought that 1.5.2 was going to land in the Romeo (unstable) repo, but that hasn't happened yet. I guess Clem is just busy working on Nadia and st...

A couple of remarks about future versions of Cinnamon
Hi guys, just posted this on the Linux Mint blog (Nadia announcement), reposting here for the benefit of all Cinnamoners ;) let me know what you think: I’ve finally moved all of my computing to Maya, the Cinnamon release, and I must say I’m pretty happy with it: fast, stable (after Cinnamon probs we...

Re: Adding scroll bar `up' and `down' arrows in LM 13
I understand that you have to install a theme including the arrows, what's the best one in your opinion?
Removing the arrows from scrollbars is another mobile-induced, otherwise-unmotivated and as-such-not-really-logical decision IMHO.

Re: Top right messages
Yay! Can't wait for 1.5 to be available as an update: my main work environment is still LM 12/Cinnamon 1.4, hope it will be possible to upgrade to 1.5. Slightly off-topic: Webupdate is giving quite some emphasis to the fact that Nautilus has been forked by Clem too (http://www.webupd8.org/2012/08/ne...

Re: Top right messages
Same here, I'm using the ElementaryOS Cinnamon theme. But it doesn't happen with all notifications, only some of them are shown as described by tivatranquio. I'd like a little more persistence with notifications, what if I'm absent for a few seconds and something really important is notified so quic...

Re: Any news on Cinnamon?
Sounds a bit risky, though, unless you devote a partition to the nightly builds. Might as well just do that ...

Re: What do you not like about Cinnamon?
Yup. Messaging and calendar integration. I think maybe in the process of Gnome2ifying everything some of the advances in Gnome Shell were thrown out with the bath water. It feels very old school not to have proper messaging and calendar integration. I agree 100%. Also, the other feature I miss from...

Re: Total GUI hang (except mouse), what?
It's happening to me on a fresh Maya Cinnamon edition install. Annoying because the only thing you can do is kill and restart the X session. At the moment doesn't seem to happen under Lisa + Cinnamon, so that's where I spend most of my time. Suggesting to install Mate when I want to use Cinnamon is ...

Re: Problems with Mint 13 Cinnamon
Thanks for the info, actually I didn't have to apply it because after an update the message went away; I guess whatever it was broken in the deb database was fixed by the incoming updatesnefnef wrote:Rehdon,

Re: Can not change any settings of Cinnamon
I do not remember there to be a specific warning on the LM website for Cinnamon being a Beta application. If I want to be part of a Beta testing program I like there to be a clear warning. [...] The word 'Beta' serves a clear purpose in the software world and should not be covered up with phrases l...

Try my Mint 12 guide to install USC in Mint, it might work in Maya as well - give me a holler if it doesn't: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=86813 Doh, could have moved my ass and look for software-center in Synaptic ... >_< Thank you anyway, and BTW had forgotten about that ni...

Re: Indie Games on Linux (new Humble Bundle now available :)
@dogsolitude_uk: I think I can install it fine from a tar.gz archive, but usually I like to have software installed via debs to be able to track everything. What you write is interesting, though, because the options wrt install location are nice (I already have a crammed root partition >.<), I wonde...

Can you use the Ubuntu Software Center under LM 12/3 to download and install the Humble Bundle games? On the Humble Bundle site you don't have debs for all the games.

Re: Adminstration menu entries duplicated in Preferences men
Besides that, I also have some duplicated entries in the Accessories category. At the moment I'm using the Gnome 2-like Applications, Places and System applet because the standard Mint menu is just too confusing for me.
