Agreed 100%, I love it for its blue highlights too :) Any suggestions for a matching GTK+3 theme?

Re: Cinnamon Themes

The first line of your commands is wrong, should be as follows:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mordant23/themes

I'm afraid you'll have to wait until localization files will be ready for translation.

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions

It's already in the Repo. That's true (I actually checked on the web), but I'm not offered the chance to upgrade the package: at the moment I have version 3.2.0-0ubuntu1-1mint3 (lisa) installed, I guess the version from your repo is the one listed as 3.2.0-2ubuntu1~oneiric (oneiric) but it is not p...

Re: Cinnamon Themes

How to install cinnamon themes? Some can be installed as DEB packages (which is always the best way) adding merlwiz79 repository. For all others you just unpack them in the .themes folder in your home directory; you'll have to check the site again yourself to know if they've been updated, though. R...

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions

I have updated the weather extension for 1.2.0. Just upgraded it, I have temperature and weather condition listed on the panel, but if I click on the icon the corresponding (bubble) window is empty. I have also updated gnome-tweak-tool to allow you to change the windows theme. You have to restart c...

Re: Cinnamon 1.2 released

To begin with though, it looks like issue 156 on GitHub would solve your problem of the hot corner being in the same position as the menu. Thank you for pointing me to that issue. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to do some research and open/comment issues where needed, I just voiced my first ...

Re: Cinnamon 1.2 released

I've just upgraded to Cinnamon 1.2 and, among the good things, I've got issues with some features: - first and foremost: what are the plans for the overview mode? at the present moment Themes have gone, which is good and something I advocated some time ago, but the workspace view seems to have gone ...

Re: No arrows on scrollbar

The arrows are absent from most newer themes because - well - are they necessary? With a mouse in hand scrolling with the scroll wheel is easier, and with a (not too old) touchpad two finger scrolling is easier than clicking, and if your mouse doesn't have a scroll wheel, clicking and holding the b...

Re: No arrows on scrollbar

Would love to have a solution to this problem too, it seems to be a completely random thing and the fact that we have to juggle among different way of setting theme prefs doesn't help :(

Re: Cinnamon PPA with Extensions

It looks like these extensions won't work in 1.1.4. Because the differences between Cinnamon and Gnome Shell are not superficial. The two projects are going towards opposite directions and when it comes to themes and extensions it's more important to us that they work well and are well supported ra...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon

Only thing missing for me is integration with zeitgeist so you can quickly launch recent files/folders from the menu search box. Since adapting GS extensions to Cinnamon seems to be quite easy perhaps Seif Lotfy will prepare a Cinnamon equivalent of the Journal extension? Has someone prodded him? C...

Re: "What does Cinnamon bring...?"

The author forgets that Cinnamon is under development and hasn't seen a final release, he also hasn't done his research properly regarding extensions as the intention according to Clem in the recent blog post still is to add support for extensions at some point, it just requires a bit of footwork i...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon

I agree with the author of the article that activities view needs to go, it's both useless and unnecessary. Is it? Even if it only consisted of the Windows view it'd be a useful overview of all apps on all workspaces, letting you pick up quickly the one you want, moving windows from a workspace to ...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon

I've just bumped into an article raising a couple of interesting issues: What does Cinnamon bring to the desktop? http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2012/01/03/what-does-cinnamon-bring-to-the-desktop/ The first, and simpler one, is the number of workspaces: I wholeheartedly agree with the author that dynamic...

Re: Another DE option for Mint 12 - Cinnamon

Typing, to launch programs? That will definitely draw users away from Windows and Mac! I know most of us Linux users are quite content with the terminal but what Gnome 3 delivers is a patchwork function to make a tablet interface usable with a conventional keyboard. Exactly. The "it's so easie...

I don't think so, since Cinnamon is an alternative to the Gnome Shell, but everything else that is Gnome 3 related has to stay for it to work.
