Re: Scrollbar and Titlebar settings in Cinnamon

I've found this issue: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/739 but as you can see it approaches the problem from the "I want the middle click back" angle, and it's been closed anyway.

Re: Scrollbar and Titlebar settings in Cinnamon

1. On virtually every OS I have ever run, clicking on the scrollbar below the current position of the slider will make the window scroll down by one page. However, Cinnamon on Nadia causes the slider to go to that exact location in the scroll. For instance, clicking at the halfway point will take m...

Thanks for the news, it looks good indeed! Since the working is exactly the same I'm hopeful about themes and extensions.

Thanks Bimse, took me a while to find the time to do it, but here you go: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/1693. Hope it makes sense to the devs :)

Re: 'Safely Remove' option missing

Perhaps the same functionality could be added to one of the numerous applets handling removable devices? No idea of how difficult that would be, mind you >.<

Re: Cinnamon development news

Thanks for the update bimse, it's good to know what will happen to Cinnamon in the near future. cinnamon 1.8 is going to be stellar one of the features i particularly like about the new cinnamon-settings is the dual-mode display: normal mode / advanced mode Actually I'm not so sure about this one: u...

Well that bug report was really enlightening ... and reminded me why I'm running away from GNOME/Ubuntu stuff.

Re: 'Safely Remove' option missing

Is there a software that can have an hard disk stop after unmounting it? Would be a good alternative in this specific case, and if it were an applet (or easily reachable from the menu) I wouldn't mind using it instead of the Unmount option.

Re: Print job prints again and again

Similar problem here: clicked on "print now" by mistake and couldn't find a way to cancel printing, went to the control panel but the "stop" icon[1] just didn't do anything, it stayed greyed after clicked on it but notifications continued to pile up. I could fix it, ignoring the continuing flow of n...

Pity you can't vote for it or add your name under "Affects me too" like on Launchpad, I'm pretty sure there are lot of people that would appreciate a fix.

Re: Ideas for Cinnamon applets / extensions

Well thanks a lot, that's a start for sure :) I'm not a programmer so I think I'll try to add the chars I need hardcoding them like you did, and hoping someone will pick it up. You might want to upload it to http://cinnamon-spices.linuxmint.com/applets and ask for help.

Re: Ideas for Cinnamon applets / extensions

Shopping lens *done right* for Cinnamon based on this Gnome Shell extension:

Looks like a worthy addition to Cinnamon :)

Re: Ideas for Cinnamon applets / extensions

A replacement for the Gnome2 Character Palette applet (a.k.a. CharpickerApplet). Wow, I really miss that from Gnome 2 times! Unfortunately the current fragmentation of GNOME-based desktops means that everything has to be written/adapted at least three times: for Cinnamon, Gnome-Shell and Unity (don...

Re: 'Safely Remove' option missing

Technically that may be correct, but the language used doesn't seem correct as well: I associate the word 'Eject' to CD/DVD media, so when "Safely remove" vanished in my LM 14 install I thought that something had gone wrong (until I found this thread :). 'Unmount' makes perfect sense to me, but then...

Re: Cinnamon "grid" icons

Hope my post won't be considered a "necroing" of this thread :) but I found it by chance while looking for a fix to this problem: having a large monitor I reduced the icon dimension, and the alignment problem is really annoying and distracting. IMHO this is one of the few things that Windows does be...

Re: Battery uptime and Upgrade to 14.1

I can't answer your first two questions, but I'd like to know what happened to USB "safe remove" in LM 14: it definitely was there in previous versions, and now it's gone! I don't think that choosing "expel" is the right way to deal with USB drives, especially if you've just written something on the...

That file exists and it surely isn't empty on Linux Mint 14.

Oh I see, hope there will be some sane form of versioning control then.

Thanks a lot for your work on the PPA, bimse.

Re: Cinnamon under Ubuntu 12.10?

Oops, hadn't seen your reply, Vincent. Thanks, I will surely try LM 14, the Ubuntu + Cinnamon thing is currently on a separate partition to try the latest and greatest stuff, my work version is still LM 13 + Cinnamon 1.4 (sadly, since 1.6.x gave me problems I couldn't solve).

Re: Cinnamon under Ubuntu 12.10?

Thanks for the advice, both of you (also, I posted in the wrong forum >_<). Just a couple of questions for bimse ;) - I also use Dropbox, is the Nemo version 'safe' to install and use? - are you planning to make a Nadia/Quetzal version of your PPA? Cinnamon developme seems to proceed at good speed, ...
