Re: Problem resuming from suspend LM19.3 xfce

My suspicion is that this is a 19.3 issue, not an xfce issue. Cinammon 19.3 has the same symptoms. I've installed 19.1 Cinnamon and that is suspending correctly on lid close. I'll keep updating until it breaks to see if I can narrow down to the cause. It might take a long time

Problem resuming from suspend LM19.3 xfce

After upgrading to LM19.3 xfce I am having problems resuming from suspend when suspend is caused by closing the laptop lid. I have an action button for suspend on the panel. I can suspend, close the lid, open the lid, the power button has a solid light, press the power button and be back where I was...

Re: Upgraded Mint today and now stuck in 800x600 mode

The heading on your kernels page shows you are booted into 5.0.0.37. You haven't managed to boot into 4.15.0.74 None of the 5.3 series are on your machine. Look in the tabs for the other series on your kernels screen and you'll see the differences between loaded and active. try again to get into 4.1...

Re: Enable Flash in Firefox?

For the avoidance of confusion, I believe that within the UK it's possible to access bbc.co.uk . From outside the UK you get directed to bbc.com. The content is different. I'm in the UK and can access the embedded videos, they default to HTML5, and don't run successfully on my laptop due to hardware...

Re: Thank you to those supporting others here!

Surely there can be no drama on TV that can compare to some of the epic stories that unfold in these forums. New users needing large quantities of explanation, understanding, examples, and patience being supported and encouraged by other posters. Despite false starts and diversions being eventually ...

Re: CPU maxes out with in-browser video

I've been digging around, and all I've found suggests that it's due to old underpowered hardware. This from an Ubuntu forum in May 2018 Re: Radeon HD 6310 Graphics not to running well It all looks good. Now the question - What type of video are you trying to watch? If it's HEVC/H.265, it's going to ...

CPU maxes out with in-browser video

On my Lenovo G575 laptop I've been living with being unable to watch embedded videos on the bbc.co.uk website for as long as I can remember. Videos start playing OK, but after about 3 seconds the video stops but the sound carries on playing. The progress bar cursor jiggles about. Occasionally I have...

Either click on the hamburger icon, top right of the screen to open the menu, click on settings, scroll to the bottom of the page and reset your preferences.
Or type chrome://settings in the address bar to open settings directly

Re: SOLVED Brave Browser in software centre is outdated since yesterday

It's amazing how much I got wrong in one go. The link in the top of the Brave homepage linked to a page with terminal instructions to install the new version in several distros with no explanation of why I would be following them. Nor any link I could find to such information. I searched in my Softw...

SOLVED Brave Browser in software centre is outdated since yesterday

I've been trying to like the Brave browser (normally I use Firefox). The version of Brave I installed from Software Manager 0.26.0.1 tells me that it is out of date and will not be updated. The icon on my Desktop is greyed out. It appears that part of the build - Muon - has been replaced, and I will...

Re: Transfer from Windows 10

I'm not sure the "Surely it will break soon" feeling ever goes away entirely. Been on LM almost 7 years now with absolutely no problems at all. Running xfce 18.3 and 19 across two laptops and a desk top, and have two friends with 18.3 desktops that I look after. No problems there either in the last ...

Re: Wifi Not Working on Linux Mint

Marianp Bearing in mind I know little about Linux but am interested to learn I like to guess what the outcome of some threads will be. (Normally I have no idea, or I'm wrong). In this case I googled 'toshiba NB200 ubuntu wifi' It seems like the advice from 2009 is make sure wifi is enabled in Window...

Frank.

Code: Select all

frank@frank ~ $ $ sudo lsmod | grep r8168
$: command not found
Too many $'s , make the command just

Code: Select all

 sudo lsmod | grep r8168
Don't know if the result will do any good, but at least it will cure the error

Re: Have I got LM19 V2 or not?

Hello again ALl41 - You'll notice that the link you suggested is the one I used. But thanks for the reminder gm10 - I hadn't downloaded LM19 before today, and the Properties of the torrent link and the iso in my download folder said they were created today. I've gone the download the iso from the Un...
