Re: Changing sources for update-3

After the update, and installing the PAE kernel, my Mint install was completely wiped out! It went black, wouldn't start up for nuttin! I waited for 1/2 hour, nothing, not even a Grub screen nor the intel setup screen. Not being a "I-can-fix-it" kinda guy, I re-installed the 32-bit version, then I d...

Re: Changing sources for update-3

Thanks for the updated sources, they are different than the ones I followed in the update-3 instruction - and no errors this time! Well, everything on the update worked fine except your gstreamer fix: sudo dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad_0.10.22-3_amd64.de...

Changing sources for update-3

Since installing LMDE a couple of weeks ago, I have had a few annoying problems, I just want to let you know that I read somewhere here that when you update to update-3 pack using the update manager, you must change your /etc/apt/sources.list. When I tried to do update-3, I followed the update manag...

Re: 7 - 10 minutes to boot up?

Please read the release notes of update-3 for some fix required after update. Then go ahead and implement update pack3. Once done install PAE kernel from Synaptic. Maybe you could provide a link to the release notes you refer to? I have looked all over and even used the search feature and can not f...

Re: Sound muted when I start up/login?

Thanks Brian49, I'll try that.
Found out that I had to use sudo

Code: Select all

sudo alsactl store
put ion my password, and then it seemed to accept it ..... I'll test it now.

That didn't work, I'm back to square one!

7 - 10 minutes to boot up?

Since my update/upgrade last week, it now takes my computer 7 to 10 minutes to boot up from the time I press the button until I see the LMDE login page. I updated using the update manager, and my sources are pointed at "latest." This release comes with Update Pack 2 and points to the “Linux Mint Deb...

Re: Linux Mint Debian 201109 (Gnome & Xfce) released!

LMDE is great! it installed flawlessly, in less than 15 minutes, and it exceeds my expectations for anything closely resembling or related to any of the *buntus. Congrats on a good job, and I think I will be using LMDE for a long, long time! I love it!

Thanks
