Re: Feedback on Cinnamon 1.4

-Include more applets, themes and extensions when installing Cinnamon. It's annoying having to visit the website and installing each of these manually. I know that there's already a repository with many of these available, but something more "official" should be created. Can I ask why an unofficial...

Re: Feedback on Cinnamon 1.4

- I'm not sure if I didn't found this feature or it is non-existent but is it possible to select more than one image for wallpaper and have it as a slideshow ? If not then it would be a great addition to the theme. - The file manager is too simplistic, and at least needs an Up button. It's one thin...

Feedback on Cinnamon 1.4

Hello everyone, I would like to give my feedback on Cinnamon 1.4 since I think that there's a couple of things that it would improve even further an amazing DE. I came to Linux Min 12 from Windows 7 after trying Ubuntu 11.04. IMO, Mint is the best distro out there and I love the commitment to provid...

Bumblebee Nvidia Optimus not working

Greetings, so I did a clean install of Mint 12 in my system, installed all updates and proceeded to install Bumblebee since my laptop has an Intel HD300 integrated graphics card and a Nvidia Geforce 540M discrete card. I followed these steps http://bumblebee-project.org/install.html from the Bumbleb...

Re: Linux Mint Wiki

You couldn't have put it better mate!
One of the things that bugs me the most is having to hunt down on multiple sources for ways on how to solve problems.

Hello from Portugal

Installed Mint a month ago and already asked a couple of questions in the forum.
I love it and just wanted to say to the devs to keep up the good job!

Re: Improvements for the Software Center

I don't think they should adopt the Ubuntu software center (even though I installed it on my Mint OS) because it could be another potential source of income to support the developers of Mint and maybe even grow their team a bit more...
I would like to see a nice Software Manager from Mint.

The Software Manager NEEDS a complete overhaul - a missed op

Hello, I am a newbie to Linux having only tried out Ubuntu 11.04 and Mint 12. I just wanted to congratulate you guys for the great work and for providing users with a great alternative to Gnome 3 - MATE. I would just like to make a small suggestion to the Mint team regarding the Software Manager. IM...

Re: Help! Grub 2 completely broken

Thanks guys but I already solved the problem by doing a forced install of grub. It's now working well.
Curiously, now I can't boot from my LiveUSB Mint version.

Re: Help! Grub 2 completely broken

When trying to mount the mint partition I get the following mistake: mount: can't find dev/sda8/mnt in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab You've missed a space - /dev/sda8 /mnt (dev/sda8[space]/mnt) ok corrected the command and then I wrote the following command: grub-install --root-directory=/mnt/dev/sda Got...

Re: Help! Grub 2 completely broken

from your pastebin, your Mint is at /dev/sda8 so, your first step is to try this 1. boot from Mint Live DVD 2. mount mint partition by sudo mount /dev/sda8 /mnt 3. reinstall grub to MBR by sudo grub-install --root-directory=/mnt /dev/sda 4. reboot and see if Mint can get booted up. I get the follow...

Re: Help! Grub 2 completely broken

An update to what happened to me. I did the following steps from this tutorial about installing Grub2 https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Configuring_GRUB_2 : 1. set prefix=(hdX,Y)/boot/grub Use the values determined earlier. Example: If the Ubuntu system is on sda5, enter: set prefix=(hd0,5)/bo...

<Solved>Help! Grub 2 completely broken

Hello, I am having serious problems with Grub 2. I installed Mint 12 one week ago and everything was working satisfactorily but today I had some issues. I was extracting a large file and saw that my Mint partition was out of disk space which I found weird since it was supposed to be a 30Gb partition...
