Re: Yet another Partitioning Question

I have a question;

I know there are boot, home, swap, and root mount points that you might use, but what about some of the other ones? What would be the advantage to having separate partitions for those?

I like this!

But maybe you could make the logo a bit smaller in the corner?

Re: Asphalt-mint wallpaper

It looks great, but it doesn't have any mint colors and to me lacks the mint feel.

I think I'll try fedora when it comes out. After that I'll be sure to get some more CDs! :)

Re: Next Mint version name

I think Irena is better.

Ada, Bianca, Cassandra, Daryna, Elyssa, Fiona, Gabriella, Hellena, Irena, Juliana, Katrina, Lea, Maria, Natalia, Oriana, Paula, Q ?

I can't think of any Q's.

Re: New Mint tool

For all of you who do need to do this right now, it's not that hard. Just put in your live CD, boot from it, open the terminal, and put in these commands; sudo grub Give it your password... find /boot/grub/stage1 This should show you all your partitions that have some form of grub on them. Find out ...

Re: AMD Phenom

Sé que AMD de 64-bits puede usar un distro de 32-bits... Pienso que si se trata no puede hacer un problema.

Debe Ud. ir al forums de Ubuntu español, saben más que yo sé.

My only other complaint is I like my window borders not to be rounded, is there an easy way to change this?

Re: These (Minty) Points of Data (UPDATED)

This is truly awesome! ...I still have one request though...   Is it possible to add a subtle drop shadow to the text so one REALLY gets the impression that it's hovering a bit above the surface, because the light settings in the composition is really good except for this...

Re: Complete Graphical Overhaul for Mint 6.0

I don't know if this is the case here, but at least with the default mint 4.0 theme the panels are very ugly with the window list; you can't really have a transparent panel, because the system theme will stay behind the windows listed, if you know what I mean. That to me is very ugly.

Re: Problem with auto-hiding of panel

I think there is a setting in KDE that shows the desktop when you put your mouse up to the top. Try to find out how to change this setting (I personally don't use KDE).

Re: Is Cairo- Dock safe?

You really won't need to worry about ANY viruses anytime soon in Linux, and yes, it's safe. I installed it, but I didn't like it too much because it was slightly glitchy. Other than that it was alright, but if you want to use a dock Avant is pretty stable (although it might not have as many options).
