I have Mint 7 (Gloria) and have had problems playing flash video since I installed it. I am using FF-3.5 Shiretoko and when I play a flash video it goes for anywhere from 30 seconds to around 2 minutes then stop and displays the symbol which shows it to be buffering but it never does start up again....

Re: How to resize partitions in GParted

emorrp1, Hi, I didn't have your reply nearby at hand when I tried to do the final part of the installation and as a result really messed things up. I went to the manual partitioning and saw all the check boxes and clicked on windows vista and it gave me a message that I hadn't specified some paramet...

Re: How to resize partitions in GParted

So should I delete the / (boot) partition and let the install program set up the Linux_Mint_Main 7 as the boot partition? I am unsure about leaving it as is and installing and then maybe having to instances of / (boot) installed because I had set one partition and the install program set another. Wo...

Re: How to resize partitions in GParted

Okay, back again. Got the HD to the sizes I need, but when I tried to defrag the HD using windows, I got an error concerning grub and was unable to boot into windows and do the defragging. I put the liveCD back in and tried to make a new partition, I can make an extended partition, of 66.01GiB and a...

Re: How to resize partitions in GParted

Thanks to all, I am working through this slowly but surely, I have gotten to where the windows partition is reduced to 70 GiB and the unallocated is established. I had to wait for the changes so didn't get around to creating the sda4 partition and designating the root "/", linux-swap, and /Home part...

Re: How to resize partitions in GParted

I looked into the Gparted options available and the only ones available are for /dev/sda5 being "unmount & manage flags", and for /dev/sda6 the available options are "swapoff & manage flags". There is no delete option available, it being grayed out so are these two options the ones that will remove ...

Re: How to resize partitions in GParted

Thanks for the advice, but need more help. I tried your suggestion, but the /dev/sda4 partition is grayed out and I am not able to delete it. The only modifications that seem to be allowed is resizing the Windows /dev/sda3 partition, but when I try that it asks if I want to increase the space prior ...

Hi, I am setting up a dual-boot on my son's laptop, with Vista and Mint Gloria. I set up the partitions when I installed Mint and the partitions were automatically set when I choose write to the same HD or something to that effect. I am not a NOOB as such but am at a disadvantage when it comes to pa...

Re: crazy network problem!

Okay, no help so far. Here is the printout from my ifconfig -a, and to me it seems that I have both my Atheros driver listed as ath0 and also as wifi0 which would seem to create a conflict if I read that correctly. I am basing my assumption on the fact that both HWAddresses are the same, except the ...

I tried to use Belkin_N wireless usb router but it failed to work, during the procedure I lost the wireless connection that I had using a Belkin_G wireless router. Re: belkin n wireless problems

I did some further checking and it seems that the usb wireless is detected but isn't activated. Re: belkin n wireless problems

Hello, When I do the modprobe AR2413 -r and the modprobe rt2500 I get a FATAL: devices not found, these are done individually of course and the warnings are separate for each query. I do think that the usb was connected when I checked for the information the first time but not positive about that. I...

Re: belkin n wireless problems

Hi Decemberdoom, Thank you for your reply, the prior router (wireless) is a Belkin G model # F507230-4 which worked fine but I was doing an upgrade for a faster network. The new router is a Belkin N model F5D8236-4 v.2 and the connection to my computer on the old was a wireless card, but on the new ...

belkin n wireless problems

I had a belkin g wireless on my home network and it worked fine, but I tried to upgrade to a wireless n, both belkin routers and wireless, with a usb adapter. Not to worry

Not to worry about the windows issue, don't have it on my 'puter', just Ubuntu. I am searching, I think I need to install one or more of the gtk engine files or libs in order to get my cups email to work right, not sure, but will keep plugging away on that. I tried manually editing the cupsd.conf th...
