Re: Cinnamon!

come on...all those options that you mentioned are pretty useless for the bulk of the users.
i am concerned about it to be solid rock. i use gnome for its simplicity and if i really want to have much more configuration option i will go for mint KDE.
what the 1% of desktop market is telling you?

Re: Chrome or Chromium?

Chrome, totally. It has the integrated PDF viewer and, much more important, it brings an updated PPAPI version of the Adobe flash player, currently 11.5 vs 11.2 in Firefox and other browsers. That doesn't sound much, but it means up to 25% performance increase in Flash benchmark 08 on my netbook, o...

Re: Cinnamon at 50%-60% cpu

cinnamon strikes again. people, wake up and smell the horse crap! dc80 you have to use mint 13 xfce cause you dont have hardware acceleration. llvmpipe means that you have software acceleration. it uses CPU power instead of GPU. @denon.carbunkle look at the glxinfo and if you also have llvmpipe, use...

Re: Cinnamon!

https://extensions.gnome.org/ needless to say thet is much more easier to install shell expensions on gnome-shell than some goddamn applets or extensions in cinnamon. and one more good thing about gnome-shell: have you notiticed that applets dont move its position randomly in panel as in gnome 2.xx ...

Re: Mint 14 and Mint-Flashplugin

can you give me a reason, a healthy one, that you would not like google chrome?

chrome will be the only way to get the latest version of flash player, and you know why? because linux only haz ONE % of desktop market due to its cappy philosophy.
so i am glad that you solved the issue.

Re: Mint 14 and Mint-Flashplugin

it is a little bit confusion, i am not talking about chromium, have you tried google chrome from google? google chrome has flash 11.5.31.xxxx version. in the meantime, adobe dropped support for linux flash. the only way to get the latest version is to use google chrome (not chromium) Version 23.0.12...

Re: Let's talk about desktop environments.

we have a big problem in linux enviroment, it si named: personal pride. due to the fact that linux has only 1% on the market, i dont see any reason to have DE like mate, cinnamon, etc. it is a shame for me to see a DE like cinnamon on mint 13, a distribution that it must have been very stable, a LTS...
