Re: wifi not working

One of those commands I ran you suggested has solved the problem, its now connecting fine after suspend but needs making permanent. Presumably it was this one...

Code: Select all

iw wlan0 get power_save
doesn't quite make sense, it didn't seem to work after the first suspend after running it.

Re: wifi not working

Thanks for your replies. The card is built in and was fine under mint 15, a lot of people seem to be having this problem with ubuntu 14.04 which I believe mint 17 is derived from. I tried the solution on this page, http://www.webupd8.org/2013/01/fix-wireless-or-wired-network-not.html that is create ...

Sorry thought the post was long enough. Also is definitely just a problem after suspend will try hibernate. Works perfectly on boot, had no problem in mint 15 whatsoever. lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Memory Controller Hub (rev 07) 00:02.0 VGA compatible contro...

Re: EFI on 33bit mint 17

Thanks very much for your kind replies I forget to say it was mate 15 although that makes no difference I think and a got rid of the unusable windows 7/8. The 32bit wouldn't install but the 64bit would but to get it to boot from the 64 bit on the HD I had to install and run a command prompt piece of...

EFI on 33bit mint 17

I was going to ask if mint 16 32bit had better support for EFI but I see we are at 17. On my daughters laptop I had to install 64bit mint 15 and even then there were problems because of the EFI. I've never been very happy with that version cf my mint 15 and since all the rest of the machines are 32 ...

Thanks but how does either happen? A stronger possibility is my wife's android phone which she checks that email account on.
