@ pkbest: You mean onboard ATI/Nvidia graphics? Onboard Intel graphics isn't possible with AMD CPU. Sry, yes the mobo is ATI, not Intel. Well first off yes I do believe everything there is supported. if your going with a amd processor I would suggest looking for a 5xxx series amd radeon, there excellent cards and prices have come down dramatically on them, also having a amd processor and graphics will enable you to use some cool feat...

If am correct then 10's eol. in the case yes you should upgrade, if you wonna keeep your home folder then simple copy to a usb stick, then clean install

okay sounds like import software got uninstalled but into recovery, get into a command prompt when in the pormpt run sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade apt-cache search gnome look for something thats says something like gnome desktop enviroment sudo apt-get install (insert search result here) ...

Its a bug, there is some kind of conflict between gnome thre and the ati drivers, not sure how to over come it, except install another desktop.

Honestly yes If you use a newer ati graphics card you should probably go for linux mint kde I have a ati 5770. awesome card, but would make gnome 3 crash for a few seconds every couple of minutes, conflict with gnome and the ati dirvers. I had linux mint kde and not a problem, very nice edition link...

you can try cheese, its a program for working with webcam. it includes effects and things of that nature.

Personally I'd suggest install the cpufreq daemon, it recommendable anyway sudo apt-get install cpufrequtils then to set the governor (controls "crank up when busy function") for a desktop where power-usage is not as much a issue sudo cpufreq-set -g performance for a laptop try sudo cpufreq-set -g ...
