First check if u can find in the repositories (software manager) if you do ( i do believe its in there) find it, I know for a fact its there in the repo's for lmde then run sudo apt-get autoremove --purge gnucash then sudo apt-get autoclean sudo apt-get update then to install from the repos sudo apt...

nope its your amd drivers conflict with the gnome-shell

I have the exact card and had that exact problem, your best bet is run kde that fixed it for me, after fighting with that issue for a few weeks. could try mate i never did

I'd suggest install gdm3

Unless you entered the commands then yes YOU HAVE. got that machine running chkrootkit and offline. run chkrootkit (paramoid is good) then back up and reinstall.
