I'd like to add that several important applets such as my wireless and volume, accessibility do now appear in either cinnamon or gnome-shell and I cannot add a single shell extension. on the lighter side i have mate working perfectly, though with all the removal it look like gnome in debian stable ...

first trying typing inxi -N see waht kind of card it is, and what driver was it? you may need to modprobe it

sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get remove --purge mintinstall
sudo apt-get autoremove
reboot

Grub2 very long boot time

Hello

I`m using grub2 on lmde, synced with incoming, on a dell inspiron 1501.
I have a 20min boot time, where grub hangs and at grub welcome, I`ve seen some bug reoort regarding grub 1.96 but no solutions

all help is appreciated

for the mint specific you will get updates for as long as 13 is supported (round three years). so yes the mint specific stuff will be supported. i'd also recommend you look at linux mint debian edition

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I'm puzzled as to why I would have the problem under Mint12, when it wasn't a problem on Ubuntu11.04 or 11.10 (there were WPA problems, but that was a different thing, and solved with WPA_Supplicant). The chipset on my device is BCM43231, which isn't listed on the page y...

broadcom cards are a nightmare under mint. I have a bcm4311 pci card on my laptop (I run lmde). ill share my experience. first the broadcom-sta driver did not tried to route my wireless as eth0 every shot. second was in ndiswrapper, basically same problem you have. try removing the drivers currently...

I'd recommend finding anti anxeity drugs and feeding them in through the usb port XD okay in all seriousness, I hope this helps first you will need the name of the drive e.g sda1 to find this, run sudo gparted gparted will tell you name of the drive, it will most likely be the last one listed. hopef...
