Re: Rolling back libraries

Just found this when I was seeing if you could prevent other packages from being installed... http://linux.die.net/man/5/apt_preferences See if you can edit the Priority in apt_preferences so P>1000 This says that it will force install a package even if it is a downgrade. So set P = 1001 and then tr...

Re: Put Mint 11 LXDE on an Asus eee 4G - Need next step

1) If you physically click the clock in the panel, you can access 'Date and Time Settings' below the calendar that pops up. 2) Users don't actually have capability to create and delete accounts, this is all through the super user, or root. So any account that assumes super user permission can adjust...

Re: Remote access and SFTP server setup for newbies

I prefer using SSH for accessing the command line, but have not really used any remote desktop utilities. For FTP, I like Filezilla a lot. Re: Rolling back libraries

Re: Laptop temperature

Hey - I have an L412 with an i5 and it definitely runs hotter in Linux than Windows (can't source that though  ). The fan also runs about twice as much. The max temp is 105C, so you should be o.k.

Custom Panel Help Needed

I'm having a difficult time adding quick-launch icons to the panels. I'm coming from Ubuntu 10.04, where you could drag and drop to panels, or right click and add. Everything I've seen here in Mint (including users guide) says I can right click on the panels here, too. Well right clicking on anythin...
