Linux can be primed for a stampede of former Win7 users who want to give Linux a try.

Looking for a System Monitor

I set up a software development environment and I am using Linux Mint 13 w/xfce 64-bit as the OS. The program I am developing for is Blender. There are known bugs in that have to do with RAM usage. I want to replicate the bugs and monitor RAM usage. This is the short term goal of learning to use a s...

Personally, I think hackers will have a field day with the new UEFI.

In the meantime Linux users will be buying old Win7 computers for bargain basement prices cause Win8 users will be spending all their money on new computers.

and the UEFI solution for Linux Mint will be...

This is a very interesting article. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/open-source/linus-torvalds-on-windows-8-uefi-and-fedora/11187 Torvalds doesn't think Microsoft's spin on Windows 8 UEFI secure boot is really going to do for security. Formatting an External Harddrive for LM compatibility

It is kind of too late.

But the problem is really permissions.

I chmode a+rwx the files I need, There are two many files to do them all at once (unless there is a way of mass chmoding over 50 gb of stored information) So my solutions is to do it one at a time.

Why do new people give up on Linux?

I think one common characteristic among linux users is patience. There is a learning curve for new users you can't just call 24/7 customer support to get someone to give you instant gratification everytime something goes wrong. Linux users ahve to google. Linux users have to register on forums, post...
