MD5 Hash Corrupt

Hi I've downloaded & burnt the torrent file revision 1 Ellysia iso. But it generated errors when booting the live CD. I've since downloaded the non-torrent file, from the second European host down the list, three times & each time it's been corrupt! This is just bad luck eh? I've since gone back to ...

Looks like there will be a Linux compatible driver soon. I did try switching encryption off, but it would still not connect??? I did originally want to dual boot Puppy, but that is more complicated.

Re: Wireless Question

Well I've loaded the driver under Control Centre>System>Windows Wireless Drivers then scanned from terminal with "iwlist scan" command. It sees mine + neighbours networks but will not actually connect even with manual configuration of network settings. I have double checked everything. The double co...

Re: Wireless network detected but can't connect

Both drivers detect hardware as present. I have manually configured network. The network manager in system tray says enable networking, it should also say enable wireless as well no? It doesn't. It also says connect to 802.1x protected wired network when left clicking on icon in system tray.

Re: Wireless network detected but can't connect

I was following .txt guide at end of suggested thread but some of the command line code appears to not work. I can get back to you exactly what when I get some time. I've got to sit down & have a bash at it sometime, the laptop not having a wireless internet connection under Mint at the mo', reporti...

Re: Wireless network detected but can't connect

I think I have may have the very same problem. Sounds familiar, same wireless card spec, tho urs is internal as opposed to PCI card. When manually trying to configure network it shows up as 0% strength, even tho when left clicking on the little computer screens, bottom right, shows a live network.

There was no out of the box connection, no, hence trying NDISwrapper. Sorry I'm easily confused, to clarify it is a Zoom PCMCIA card. Jst burning another RW as we speak....

Re: Wireless Question

Well the live CD took an age to load, wouldn't open a terminal prompt, & did not shut down properly. Maybe the RW data is corrupt? Anyway I looked under hardware tab & the PCI card shows up as:

ISL3886[prism javelin/prism xbow]

Is this good?

Wireless Question

I browsed my driver CD that came with my Zoom LAN card & saved the driver files to the root drive. I then booted up Mint in live CD mode & navigated to "wireless drivers" under the main menu. I loaded the .inf file but when trying to configure the network, the box is all greyed out, though it says h...

AVG For Linux

Yes, I am very paranoid, but also running AVG on a dual booting computer can be a good thing, say, if it did not boot to Windows for instance. However I do not have sufficient privileges to run AVG update under Mint. I have come across this thing called "sudo" command. I have no idea how to invoke t...
