Desktop freeze on resume from Suspend [18.1]

Upgrade from 17.3 to 18 rock solid suspend no issues. 18.1 however has intermittent suspend issue. The desktop will display along with movable mouse pointer but left/middle/right click has no effect. Dropping to a shell then Ctrl + Alt + F7 results in black screen. I have re-imaged 18.0 for the pres...

Re: Grub 2 Dual Boot

I did install both a / (root) & /home partition with mint. I chose to manually set the partitions. I have the uuids of both Mint partitions & the new swap uuid after firing up GParted & right clicking info. I have tried: sudo update-grub & it will detect Mint in Grub menu only, but something is obvi...

Re: Grub 2 Dual Boot

/etc/fstab under Xubuntu does not list Mint partitions? However swap is the wrong uuid as was moved from a primary partition to an extended one. Mint is also on two extended partitions. I think BIOS limits to four primary partitions & I have 5 in total. Is there a way to update /etc/fstab? EDIT: Whe...

Grub 2 Dual Boot

Adding Mint LXDE 9 LTS to dual boot with Xubuntu 10.04 (original installation) using Xubuntu's Grub menu to run the show. When booting Mint it drops to a shell CLI saying uuid does not exist.

Code: Select all

ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/###... does not exist.
I can still boot Xubuntu.

Re: MD5 Hash Corrupt

Checks out OK with quickssfv as well! Won't trust that MD5 # app by Diamond CS again, maybe it doesn't work with torrent files?

Re: MD5 Hash Corrupt

Re: MD5 Hash Corrupt

Sounds like common sense to me! Yeh, I should check the "read verify" button on my burning app. But I think the MD5 hash was off kilter. I find the torrent faster actually. Thanks for advice.

MD5 Hash Corrupt

Hi I've downloaded & burnt the torrent file revision 1 Ellysia iso. But it generated errors when booting the live CD. I've since downloaded the non-torrent file, from the second European host down the list, three times & each time it's been corrupt! This is just bad luck eh? I've since gone back to ...

Looks like there will be a Linux compatible driver soon. I did try switching encryption off, but it would still not connect??? I did originally want to dual boot Puppy, but that is more complicated.

Re: Wireless network detected but can't connect

Both drivers detect hardware as present. I have manually configured network. The network manager in system tray says enable networking, it should also say enable wireless as well no? It doesn't. It also says connect to 802.1x protected wired network when left clicking on icon in system tray.

I was following .txt guide at end of suggested thread but some of the command line code appears to not work. I can get back to you exactly what when I get some time. I've got to sit down & have a bash at it sometime, the laptop not having a wireless internet connection under Mint at the mo', reporti...
