Re: Just installed LMDE, Got it up and running, but...

Check your fstab file to see if it includes a swap line e.g. /dev/sdb3 none swap sw 0 0
If so, then in a terminal run the swapon -a command

here's a tip!

I have seen various issues from some individuals that dont seem to affect others. Well I had this issue that only affected me(?) but I was able to figure it out! For some reason, whenever I tried to reboot using the Menu or the awn reboot applet, my pc would rarely reboot. It just sat there, I had to...

AWN Icon missing

Im using LMDE and wanted to try out the new Mint-x Icons...the only problem I see is the Cairo menu icon is missing from my AWN menu bar (far left) http://goo.gl/L54dF I changed the icon as you can see in the AWN settings to the debian swirl, but the Cairo icon on the desktop refuses to update. Re: how does mintupdate work on LMDE

Update Manager doesnt work for me...keeps saying I have broken packages but Package Manager doesnt report that.
I ignore Update Manager and run the updates via terminal: sudo apt-get update then sudo apt-get upgrade

Re: LMDE Bug Reports Thread

Anyone else notice that fonts do not look as good in LMDE as they do in Mint 9? Specifically, in Google Chrome or Chromium Web browser. Do a search in Google and compare the quality of the fonts in the search results, which will illustrate the issue. I set up anti-aliasing the same as in Mint 9, an...

Re: Mint Debian

@ nadir After installing the experimental kernel sound is indeed working. I would probably try the liquorix-kernel when I do a fresh "proper" install, safe in the knowledge that my sound should be working out of the box when testing gets a higher kernel. Oh, that is good. Bout the liquori...

Re: Mint Debian

I was running the Chromium PPA in LM9 and wanted to get the latest browser running in LMDE (the repos have 5.0 and the dailies are up to 7.0). I added the ppa source but was curious on which version of Ubuntu I should have chosen (Maverick, Lucid,Karmic...). I went with Karmic. deb http://ppa.launch...

Re: Mint Debian

Ok, I was able to install the latest nvidia drivers but running sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop did not stop the x server...ended up dropping to a shell then invoking the init 1 command which booted me back to the desktop, then I dropped back to a shell and was able to install the driver with the sh ./NVX...
