Re: Problems Linux 12 Booting
Very good points. I have switched from using gnome 3.4 although I really liked it. I think I am using standard gnome. I just bought a 8gb usb flash drive, since i can not boot to cd. What cd/dvd iso would be best as a recovery usb? That way in case anything happens, i can use an usb key to fix/repai...

Minimize & Maximize keep disappearing
I really prefer that those stay up there. Now i have read that the way to fix that is to do this: gconftool-2 -s -t string /desktop/gnome/shell/windows/button_layout "menu:minimize, maximize, close" But that doesn't seem to save the settings of keeping the minimize, maximize and close icons in my wind...

How do I set it up, so everything but error's is hidden from me?
I have to run that every time after a repo is added, which i have no problem with, however unless there are error's with a repository, why should it show all the other info?

Thanks for the quick response. I did enable the backup system, as i have two hard drive's, which is handy, to have as a backup system. Maintenance & Dumbness Protection
Hi all, I am totally new to linux, but not new to computing. Been into computer's since 1980. Long time window's user sadly lol. Now I am dual booting winxp/linux mint 12.
