Hello I am quite embarrassed with the community website (https://community.linuxmint.com) I tried to submit an idea and could not find a link/button. I wanted to insert information about my hardware. I would like to add my model and cannot find a way to do it. Are these pages in read-only mode for n...

[SOLVED] Install openscad from their repository
Hello I am using Mint 18.3, and saw that openscad from Ubuntu is quite old. One solution is to use their downloads page where they provide a Ubuntu 16.04 deb line: deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/t-paul/xUbuntu_16.04/ ./ When I add it to the list, and update the cache, it only sh...

date time special format
Hello
In the Calendar applet, which displays the date, we can use a custom format.
As my dashboard is vertical, I would like to knowif there is a special symbol to insert a line feed.
Default date vertically is HH\nMM. I would like to have HH\nMM\nday/month
But it doesn't seems to work.
Regards

Re: "Sparky Linux" 3.4 released (Debian Testing) -- Nice!
I will be using it as my default go-to distro.. (with Mint 17 Cinnamon, and Manjaro). A very satisfying trio of Linux distros.. based on (Ubuntu, Debian, and Arch). :D Hello GeneC, I am interested in knowing what would lead you to choose Sparky over Mint (or the opposite). The description you gave ...

Re: Issue to install software
Viewing viewtopic.php?f=91&t=55382, I did the opposite and activate PolicyKit.
To check on the error, you should know that "Software Manager" is called mintInstaller; Launching it in a terminal allows you to have the "real" error to post in forums.
Things worked again !

[SOLVED] Issue to install software
Hello all, I freshly installed LM12 LXDE in a VirtualBox (HD 8Go, RAM 1.7Go + 2 cores of the i5 host). It worked nice. I installed Opera and gcc via Software Manager with no issue. I also installed git via sudo apt-get with no issue neither. I then added an entry to fstab to automount a Virtualbox s...
