If your a KDE fan, i seriously suggest to give OpenSuse 11 DVD version a go.... Its the best latest kde desktop you will ever try. Its even got kde4/Gnome/Xfce on there if you wish to install them. At the command line, login, then type: sudo envy -t That should get you back to your desktop. For future reference, kernel upgrades generally will bork your x-windows. If you use Mint Update instead of Adept, you will normally get only "safe" updates that won't mess up your system. Thanks...

Upgraded kernel, Nvidia driver won't work

A couple of days ago I upgraded from the 2.6.22-14 to the 2.6.22-15 kernel (it appeared in the Adept Update Manager). When I boot to the -15 kernel, all I get is a text-based login prompt and no graphics. I can still boot normally to the -14 kernel. I have an Nvidia 8600GTS card with the 169.12 driv...
