Re: Can I make the "Windows" (aka "Super)-key behave like in

if you assign Win+E to the action Home Folder that is already listed, then you don't even have to know. in Mate, the file explorer is Caja , so you can just run that. in Cinnamon, I believe it is still Nautilus . you can see a list of process running the command ps -ef in a terminal ( man ps for oth...

Re: Can I make the "Windows" (aka "Super)-key behave like in

by the way, in Cinnamon I believe pressing the Win key will open the menu, but then it's the Win+E combination that is not possible. If I remember correctly, I had to setup shortcuts like Alt+E instead of Win+E. Someone corrects me if I'm wrong... bottom line is that none of the Mint DE acts like Wi...

Re: Can I make the "Windows" (aka "Super)-key behave like in

Hello,
in Mate, single-pressing the windows key won't open the menu, but pressing Ctrl+Win keys will.
then you can setup additional keyboard shortcuts like Win+E, just go to Control Center -> Keyboard Shortcuts

hope this helps

Re: Update Pack 5 release date? [Released Sept 17, 2012]

I find the name of this thread a bit misleading.
UP5 has not been officially released, and is not stable yet.

Re: UPDATE PACK 5 FEEDBACK THREAD

Hi, since the update to UP5, I can't come back to the desktop after Suspend. apparently this is a known bug in NVIDIA driver 302.xx, is fixed in 304.xx http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2564669&postcount=51 To clarify, this is a short-lived branch. Our intention is to roll out the fixes...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

+1 Inoki LMDE would just be the most perfect distribution, would it get an UP once every 1-2 month. Then we would be sure to have latest features / bug fixes / security updates, in a controlled, stable and working way. People who recommend to switch to Testing repos don't understand that they break ...

Re: Request to base LMDE on Debian stable next!

I'd be much more interested in a Stable-based LMDE than I am in one based on Testing
you might want to have a look at SolusOS, could be a good alternative for your needs.
I am currently using it in parallel with LMDE, it works great.

cheers.

Re: ASUS EeePc X101CH Video Drivers?

Hello,
the solution to get the correct resolution on Asus X101CH is to install kernel 3.4.2, as per following procedure :
http://www.upubuntu.com/2012/06/how-to- ... buntu.html

then just reboot and you'll get the correct resolution.

cheers

Re: unable to locate mate-notification-daemon

Hi, if anyone is ever interested, I found a solution to my issue. I added the following to my sources.list file : deb http://packages.mate-desktop.org/repo/debian wheezy main and was then able to re-install mate-notification-daemon. It's a bit strange that this package is installed by default on LMD...

unable to locate mate-notification-daemon

Hello, as I was testing Gnome-Shell on LMDE, I had to remove the package mate-notification-daemon to resolve some dependencies. Now that I want to go back to Mate, I wanted to re-install the notification package, but it seems it can't be found in the reposiroties. any idea ? home ~ $ aptitude search...

do you have mdm installed ?
you can check if /etc/sbin/mdm exists, and link to it if it does.
