mintmenu update?

When will mintmenu 2.3 be released? The "places" section of the menu still has the bug where the menu hangs after opening any of the items in this section more than once.

I have used PCLinux and it is a very fine distribution, texstar is said to be a perfectionist. LinuxMint 3.0 is based on Ubuntu Feisty and is fast and stable. Both distributions have what I consider user friendly tools. LinuxMint has multimedia set up and ready to go and the mint menu is very user f...

Thunderbird information

Just thought I would let anyone interested know that removing the residual config files and other references to Evolution fixes the problem of e-mail links in beta 2.

I also removed an Evolution folder, (should have wrote it down). I clicked on a link to e-mail someone today and Thunderbird came up.

I sent the author of the wallpaper an e-mail asking for his permission to use a Mint logo on the wallpaper. The author has a screen shot of a blue and green version that would look perfect. D1Wayne, your talent and skill amaze me! I would like to use the new Mint logo and the new style lettering. I ...

Thanks for the reply s! I just went with the blue wallpaper and adjusted the background color at logon to match. It looks good with everything else!

I might try and contact the person that created the wallpaper if I can find his e-mail address.

I think that those that have the desire to move away from Windows will find Mint to be one of the best Linux based distributions available. There will always be die hard Windows fans and that is of course their choice.... LinuxMint allows there to be a choice!

Need some expert help.

I found these wallpapers here. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51505556/
I wound like to try putting the new Mint logo with the shadow effect in the upper right for the green_1280x1024.

I have no idea how to do this? I thought it might look good. Would someone with the ability give it a try?

Mint moving up on DistroWatch!

I refreshed the distrowatch list for the last 7 days and LinuxMint has moved up to number 6! This is a good sign that things are going in the right direction with the new release!

D1Wayne, your post was very well worded. The subject of graphics cards and Linux has been in many articals and reviews and makes a valid point. At best, number 4 might be used but most just want things to work "out of the box".

I like Gnome, it has always been very stable for me. KDE always seemed kind of buggy to me. Konqueror never displayed drives properly for me, just empty folders. K3b would crash after updating it or wouldn't work anymore. Gnome just works for me.

Just updated to the new up splash, it looks good and goes along with what was discussed in the Art section of the forum. Very nice work!
