Re: Login Screen at Start up

In the system parameters, you should find an administration section. In this section, you have an item for the connexion window. Here you can activate the password request. I guess you should uncheck the box for automatic login.

Re: Tor anyone?

Assuming all the exit nodes are under control from an agency, it still doesn't mean a lot.
There are 2 nodes between you and the exit, and they prevent the exit node to know where the data are from.

If you use https connexions, the exit node doesn't see much.

Re: An unpleasant experience

My condolences. You have my sympathy... Best day of my working life. After more than 3 hours, the IT gave up and stopped investigating why my system doesn't work anymore. They gave me an empty system where I can only read my mails (useful...) and will reinstall W10 again today. The IT g...

Re: Mirror in Paris/France

There is something wrong here.
The list of mirrors wasn't updated since May 2017. And I can't find it in Github. Therefore, your mirror is not listed.

As soon as I can get my hand on it, I will add your mirror in it. The package concerned is mint-mirrors

Re: Let's remember to use httpS for images/avatars... :)

Xenopeek made sure earlier this year that new avatars can only be with an https link. You can also use gravatar now. If I remember correctly, he converted a lot of avatars to https also. It must be impossible to meet an http avatar nowadays on the forum with all the good work he did.

but it also doesn't help the OP's preference, which isn't in line with how things go in the Linux world. If you want it, you shall have it, if it's doable. Then the road of editing Nemo code source is in front of you. Which means that you will have to patch any new version of Nemo... Sure i...

Re: Show all file sizes in kB?

In this case I think Windows is broken. If the size is not being correctly displayed with the correct unit, this is unreadable. Especially now that you can get files over a Gb, can you imagine if this is displayed in kb? The unit is part of the number. Get used to it, and you will see it wil...

Re: Adding right-click context-menu items?

You can add actions in Nemo, and then you will see them in the contextual menu. There is already such an action for checking the SHA sum of an iso file. You can customize it a little to get it running for all files. [Nemo Action] Active=true Name=Check SHA256 Name[de]=Prüfe SHA256-Hash Name[fr]=Véri...

I have observed the same on my side. I solved the issue by blocking hangout and a few other google app. Also I do not update the Gmail app as this leads to battery drain.
