Re: LMDE is really hard to love

Everything was clearly said since the beginning... We’re not “switching base”, we’ll continue to use Ubuntu on most of our systems. This Debian-based project will produce an additional system (to start with), it’s something we want to try, and if it proves successful, it’s something we’ll continue t...

Re: LMDE is really hard to love

All their resources are on the main edition and LMDE is just an afterthought. There's not even any mention of there being a LMDE IRC channel. That was said since the beginning of the Debian Edition, so... No big surprise here. It's working fine, an UP5 is coming... why are people so angry ? :? And ...

Re: Update Pack 5 release date?

I've tested all the browsers and have to stick with Firefox 'till we get an update, because of outdated software I'm having problems working with what I preferred. Really sad...... Whaouuuuhhhhh that's a terrible problem...  more seriously, I don't see why you have problems with "out d...

Re: Request to base LMDE on Debian stable next!

I use Chrome in Debian Stable, so that isn't an issue. . Please don't be too proud of it  It does not take 10 seconds to base LMDE on Debian stable. It takes a lot of time as well as the process is very complicated and difficult. http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/497 If changing th...

Re: Request to base LMDE on Debian stable next!

For persons who want a LMDE with a debian stable, there is 2 solutions at least : 1) change your sources.list. It takes 10 seconds so it doen't need a new release. 2) Just install Debian. Debian stable means no upgrades of the softwares for 2 years if you don't use backport. Sorry but I'm not sure I...

Re: Upgrade to Mint Debian - will I lose my programs?

Aplany, Due to the question you're asking, I suggest you don't upgrade to LMDE. The debian edition is not very difficult to use but it's still harder than the main one. Your question shows that you don't have the level of knowledge to use it without any problem. Upgrade to Mint 13 seems a better cho...

Re: how do I install lmd 12 on ssd and separate drive for /h

You're way to arrogant to get an answer here Phil Smith. You haven't read the release notes about LMDE, and I am sure you don't understand what this is (LMDE12 and question about the home folder for example)... ZeroZero is one of the best in the Linux Mint Community, always nice with people, and eve...

Re: [NEWBIE] Partition Question Ubuntu --> Mint Debian

LMDE is not for newbie. It's far too complicated for beginners.

You should really be considering to use the main edition, mint 12, which is better for the beginning.

Re: Cinnamon not starting

You probably forgot to desactivate compiz.

In fall back mode : terminal --> gnome-session-properties & --> uncheck Compiz.

It worked for me this way.
