How to install .cur file on Mint 18.3 Cinn?

I found some packages that deal with MS cursors but they do nothing not to mention they can't find any "MS compatible packages", whatever that is. I downloaded these packages in an attempt to install the Windows 7 Aero cursors which I have them all - the '.cur' files which are the actual cursor anim...

Re: Why do you always have to ruin everything?

is it possible you have hardware issues on your machine? To have usability issues across Mint 10, 11, 12, 13, 15 suggests something else is going on Not possible, mr. Professor! Mint is the only OS that causes me this kind of trouble - refering to Mint 10 to 13 which all froze at start up. No other...

Re: Why do you always have to ruin everything?

This is an observation of Mint development. Ever since I was trying to use Mint there was something that made me give up, starting with Mint 10. All Mints from 10 till 13, included, were freezing upon first startup right after installation. It took several restarts in order to make 13 run without fr...

Why do you always have to ruin everything?

Why do you always have to ruin everything? That's the question I wanna ask the devs ever since I installed Mint 15. On 14 there was a program which brought up a window allowing to edit applets settings such as keyboard indicator. Now that so important and useful program is replaced by something call...

Re: Mounted drive appears as "Picture CD"

It didn't work. I still have no rights. I also gave myself root rights but the system continues to say that I'm not the owner and I can't change anything and "Picture CD" remains such.

Mounted drive appears as "Picture CD"

I wasn't sure where to post this question and finally I thought this could be the proper section. First I have to say that I used to have this problem in Ubuntu 10.10 and at that time my HDD was ATA. Later, when I bought a SATAII disk that problem under Ubuntu disappeared. However, now I have that p...

I also have a problem with installing Wine (any version). It hangs at 12% and it's already been about 20 minutes since it got stuck at 12%. :(

How to install a 'run' file?

I'm trying to install my video card drivers which are set in a file with extension 'run'. I've set it to be able to run as a program, opened it as admin and yet it doesn't want to run. Puma says something about charsets and the bottom line is it won't start the file.

Re: Grub disappeared after installing LM13

Those commands from the Boot-Repair link fixed the problem. Thanks very much! :)
But now there's another problem about which I'm gonna have to open another topic somewhere else.

Grub disappeared after installing LM13

I have 2 HDDs and on the second one there was Ubuntu but it glitched too much, so I decided to install LM13 as it was recommended to me by a friend. When it started it asked me what to do - delete Ubuntu and reinstall or delete everything. I selected to reinstall and remove Ubuntu. Everything was fi...
